We recently spent 4 nights at the hotel. Whilst the room was maybe a little on the small side (I think with the price of property in that part of Paris, that's par for the course), we had a really enjoyable stay. The staff were all very pleasant. The beds were so comfortable, and there was clean linen every day.... More

The Grand Hôtel des Balcons is located in the 6th arrondissement, one of the most sought after boroughs in Paris for high fashion, designers' products, and splendid restaurants, not to mention its numerous cultural, historical and sightseeing attractions. A half-block away is the Théâtre de l'Odéon, two block in the opposite direction is Boulevard Saint-Germain for "window shopping" and more,... More

Great location and a nice, comfortable room. We really enjoyed the breakfast and one family (who we thought may have been in ownership of the property) graciously offered champagne during New Year's breakfast. Overall, a very pleasant experience for the most part. The only issue seemed to be with gentleman who ran the front desk during the night shift, whom... More

We spent a few nights at the Grand Hotel des Balcons at the begging of our trip and enjoyed it's fantastic location and great rooms. The staff was very friendly and knowledgeable about the area. They helped us find a few different places we wanted to go. When we got back from our New Year's Eve adventure at around 2... More

We stayed at Bolcons hotel recently and was very pleased with the service. Great location, close to metro and market. The staff was very friendly and was always eager to help. Few things to improve - Breakfast is good but wish they would change the menu instead of having the same breakfast everyday! It was not a big problem though... More

The Grand Hotel des Balcons is situated in one of the best locations in Paris. Plus, it is quaint, art nouveau, small, and with a very attentive staff. The rue Casimir Delavigne is only one block long, but it is between a wonderful selection of restaurants (near the Danton statue, metro Odeon, and part of the complex rue Saint Andre... More

My wife and I just spent six nights at the Grand Hotel des Balcons. It was our second time there; it won't be our last. Since we were on their email list from our first stay, we were lucky enough to receive a special package offer (an advantageous room price, breakfast included) that prompted this most recent trip to Paris.... We've stayed here many times over the last 5 years and find it better each time. The staff is friendly and helpful, the location couldn't be better as we always go to the Luxembourg Gardens. Free Wi-Fi, a copious and tasty breakfast starting at 7am is also perfect for us.

Great location, friendly staff. View of L'Odeon up the street. We were able to walk everywhere we went (we're walkers), but the Metro is only 2 blocks away. Didn't have the breakfast during our three-night stay, but many others seemed to enjoy it. Wi-fi and other appointments hassle free. Highly recommended.

Charming, perfectly located in a small street between Saint-Germain, the Latin Quarter and Montparnasse. A short walk from the main attractions, nightlife and shopping. Good price for that area and interesting offers for autumn, Christmas and the weekend. The breakfast is very good both salty and sweet, the wi-fi is free and working well, the rooms are small but nice,... More

Staying in Saint-Germain-des-Pres

Neighborhood Profile
In Saint-Germain-des-Prés, life is effortlessly chic and all things are beautiful. The main boulevard is dotted with famed terraced cafés, haut-couture shops, ivy-covered railings and fine-dining restaurants. Antique dealers and art galleries surround the fine art school and small museums hide in unassuming squares. The neighborhood’s namesake church is the oldest in Paris and is the backdrop for talented musicians every weekend. The Luxembourg Gardens house the national senate, splendid lawns and flourishing flower beds. Famous faces and bourgeois Parisians frequent Saint Germain accompanied by the students of Rue Saint Guillaume and Rue des Saints-Pères. This is a neighborhood where afternoon people-watching from a café or playing cards in a brasserie are a key part of the daily fabric.
