I stayed at this hotel with my grandmother last September. It was such a beautiful room with two double/queen beds. There was plenty of room in the hotel and very clean. The toilet was small but it did the job! The bathroom was clean and big enough also with a bath and shower. The place was in the middle of... More

For a hotel well located near Luxembourg Garden. Small rooms but clean and comfortable. Did not have breakfast at hotel as there are many other choices nearby. Helpful staff, close to Metro stops and shopping.

Our family of four (parents and two teen boys) enjoyed 5 nights at this lovely hotel during Spring Break. The hotel exceeded our expectations in every way! We arrived at noon and were able to check in right away. Our quad room provided ample space. The boys each had their own bed, the bathroom configuration was efficient (toilet was separate,... More

This was our fourth visit to Paris and we have always looked for a hotel in the Latin Quarter close to the Seine, the Jardins de Luxembourg and other tourist attractions. there are very many good restaurants in an area buzzing with life and interest. To find the Hotel Des Balcons was the icing on the cake. Beautifully clean and... More

Its a smallish place, really comfortable and with lovely staff - a little out of the way yet still close to lots of great sights. Especially convenient for public transport. Of course the rooms are small - this is Paris. The elevator is very small!!! - but it was all I needed for my elderly mother. We stayed in April... More

We visited Paris in the spring time with a party of five people. On our arrival we were warmly greeted and provided with the key's to our rooms. The double rooms with balcony were very clean and gave us a feeling that we were in Paris. We tried the breakfast which cost $12 per day and it was very good.... More

We arrived early, around 1pm, but since our room was ready the staff did not make us wait until the "official check in time," which seems to be so often done in Europe. Staff quite friendly and helpful throughout the trip. Very professional, and were able to answer all our questions about attractions and dining and activities with ease. The... More

My boyfriend and I stayed at this hotel Friday-Monday for our anniversary. The price was great for the hotel location, as we received half price for the Sunday night under their weekend offer. The hotel itself is very clean and elegantly decorated. Our room was exactly as the photos suggested, no unexpected surprises. A cleaner comes to your room every... More

I recently spent a week here and quickly realized that the location of the hotel is really convenient to nearly every main attraction in Paris. Although the metro and major boulevards are very close, the hotel itself is on a small and pretty quiet street. As is apparently true of most European hotels, the rooms were quite small, but livable.... More

Absolutely central location, near Saint-Germain-des-Prés but not right smack in the tourist district, extremely easy access to lots of things you will want to do in Paris (5 minutes to Brasserie Balzar). Our room was genuinely small (double bed with 2 ft on either side, 3 ft to the desk, small bathroom) but had a nice window onto Casimir Delavigne.... More

Staying in Saint-Germain-des-Pres

Neighborhood Profile
Saint-Germain-des-Pres
In Saint-Germain-des-Prés, life is effortlessly chic and all things are beautiful. The main boulevard is dotted with famed terraced cafés, haut-couture shops, ivy-covered railings and fine-dining restaurants. Antique dealers and art galleries surround the fine art school and small museums hide in unassuming squares. The neighborhood’s namesake church is the oldest in Paris and is the backdrop for talented musicians every weekend. The Luxembourg Gardens house the national senate, splendid lawns and flourishing flower beds. Famous faces and bourgeois Parisians frequent Saint Germain accompanied by the students of Rue Saint Guillaume and Rue des Saints-Pères. This is a neighborhood where afternoon people-watching from a café or playing cards in a brasserie are a key part of the daily fabric.
