We stayed here one night since it was walking distance from Gare de Lyon and we had an early train to catch. This is what you'd expect from a hostel, but here is our experience...not really pros and cons, just how it is. -Typical of a hostel, you pay for or bring sheets and towels. -Tiled floor, bunk beds in... Breakfast meagre but included in price of room and unlimited hot drinks. Showers good. Not all rooms have cupboards. Sockets are sparse. Security of luggage room questionable. Reservation in hostel bookers didn't work. Overall acceptable to good for 17€ a night.

This hostel is located in the Bastille district which is a really fun, hip area that has a convenient metro stop. Getting to any of Paris's main sights would take you at least 40 minutes from the hostel. Rooms are clean, beds are pretty uncomfortable. We were under the impression that there were no power outlets in the room until... More

the wifi wasn't working our first night but it was fixed first thing in the morning. the beds were fine but the walls are paper thin. the free breakfast includes a spongy cake thing, baguette with jelly-butter, juice and coffee. not in a great part of town but easy enough to get to central paris

I went for two nights to Paris, for visit the city during whole day. This place was excellent for this purpose. I bad bed with bedding, en suite bathroom, a locker also. The breakfest was good, and I could buy extra stuff, like bread for the day. I'd recommend for my friends! And there is also luggage room to use.... More

We booked this hostel for 3 nights during our stay in Paris. The staff are friendly but that is where the positives stop. The rooms are not as clean as you would expect, the toilets were verging on dangerous due to broken tiles on the floor and the showers very rarely had hot water. You are locked out for large... More

Stayed here as an emergency - all other places booked, but echoing all other reviews... Beds are terrible, creak like hell and very old. Mattresses are bad condition, pillows painful. The sheets are not all included in the extremely high price (bring a sleeping bag liner, the 'blanket' is horrid). Of course this is a kid's hostel, so expect noise,... More

Stayed here for a week, I thought I had found a hidden hostel not many people knew about. Turns out AIJ is really Bastille hostel, they're connected to each other. Even though I made my reservation through the AIJ website, I stayed in the Bastille hostel. I had a private room with one plug, a shower and a sink. For... More

My cousin and I stayed here last summer while backpacking through Europe. We stayed in a private (2 person) room with private shower and shared toilet. Pretty good location, not super close to tons of attractions, but VERY close to the metro. Also in a good location for picking up food and other necessities. Staff was pretty friendly, especially considering... More
