My husband and i stayed 6 nights and this was a great homr base. The price was the cheapest we paid on our 3 week euro trip, including hostels. The location was excellent, it wasn't in a sketchy nor touristy area. Very nice pedestrian only streets near by with tons of restaurants and a authentic parisian atmosphere (rue montorgueil is... As an American visiting Paris I had high expectations. Unfortunately, the staff was indifferent and unhelpful. There was a service I did not use and was still charged for. I do not reccommend this hotel and if I return to Paris would prefer to sleep on the street much like the people who do within proximity of the hotel. Disappointed... More

For the same price, all other accommodation options appear to be much further out of town. Tiquetonne is in the 2nd arrondissement, 15 mins walk from the Louvre, a stone's throw from the metro and very close to cafés, bars and restaurants on nearby streets. 5/5 for the location. The communal toilet and shower are not bad (7th floor shower... More

Great location- could walk easily to both the two nearby major railway stations as well as the metro, but could also walk to sights, restaurants , shopping just as easily., helpful staff;good security, easily located Room very clean, spacious simple, quiet, quite comfortable. Found it erring towards expensive, as a solo traveller at 70 euros for the night; would have liked... More

For us, Hotel Tiquetonne was a good bqse to explore the city. The location is perfect, it's clean and was quiet when we were there. Simple rooms, prices o.k. because it's Paris. It's a bit like a hostel. A side street, very close to the subway.

Paying €70 a night in Paris seems like it's not too much. The public areas of this hotel seem rather outmodish (meaning: old), but the people at the reception are invariably helpful and friendly, and there is an elevator; the room and bathroom were clean, dry and warm. No TV; didn't miss it because such is Paris! Breakfast is only... More

I had a very nice 5 night stay here. The hotel is clean, and very convenient to a Metro stop. Nearby are lots of restaurants, and a convenience store is just around the corner. The staff were helpful and friendly. The elevator worked adequately. I would have given this place an "excellent" rating except for the shower policy. It cost... More

We stayed at this hotel for a week and we're very happy with our decision. The location is excellent, a few blocks away from many important points (Pompidou, Louvre, Concorde, St. Eustache, Madeleine and a big etc.), there's a metro station near, the Montorgueil street with great shops and restaurants such as le pain quotidien and Stohrer (highly recommended) is... This is a very cheap hotel on Paris standards, the level of luxury is close to zero nevertheless it has one big advantage which beats other cheap hotels- the location. Noncentral parts of Marais is a place to be if you dont want to feel like a tourist though its sooo close to everywhere. There are rooms with own shower... More

I have stayed at this hotel a few times over many years and have a friend that stays there multiple times year and has been doing so for years. Its a small hotel with no luxuries but clean and has a superb location. Very central. We do lots of walking so it was perfect. The best rooms are on the... More

Staying in Opera / Bourse

Neighborhood Profile
Opera / Bourse
The neighborhood around Opéra and Bourse is a belle époque paradise of grand boulevards, refined arcades, and mass-market art-nouveau entertainment. Here, modern day workers continue to take advantage of the legacy that nobility and finance left in the 19th century. Brightly-lit brasseries, theaters, and cinemas sit side by side with French bistros predominating in one area and Japanese restaurants in another. The area is most famous for the Palais Garnier opera house and glamorous department stores.
