This Hotel's biggest asset are the staff. We were greeted on arrival by a super happy and friendly gentleman, who even helped to carry our bags to our room. He provided us with helpful maps and information. The hotel itself is okay. My biggest requirement is cleanliness, and I found the room to be clean, however outdated. Breakfast is as... More

I am from Las Vegas where I have been in the Hotel/Casino business for many, many years. I was at the Sands all during the Rat Pack years, Sinatra and the guys. I am now at this hotel and like lthe way things are done here. I have stayed here before and I will again. Three main reasons I like... More

This quirky hotel is in the vibrant St Paul/Marais area where there is a lively and inclusive village atmosphere, good transport links, wide choice of restaurants, museums, antique shops and interesting clothing boutiques - all within walking distance. Hôtel staff are very friendly and helpful, and rooms are clean and comfortable, if a bit basic and outdated in style (... More

The Hotel du 7e Art is a pleasant place to stay. Very close to St Paul Metro, easy walking distance to central Paris. Room was clean and comfortable , bathroom was small with a good shower. Breakfast is extra, juice, croissant, bread and coffee, quite adequate. Area was quiet and felt safe.

Some friends and I stayed here for 5 nights just recently. The hotel is well situated within walking distance to many attractions (Notre Dame, Bastille, Pompidou Centre) and Metro stations for the further out tourist locations. It is also within close distance to many resturants, shops and bars. The staff were very helpful and friendly. The Hotel has plenty of... More

Hotel du 7e Art is a small, informal hotel in the very heart of Paris. The atmosphere and staff is nice and cool indeed. But at all not so that you "feel ancient at 40". There is no classic luxury at this hotel, but for someone (like us) who find perfect location, "the feel of a place" and wonderful prices... More

French independent small hotels are not always recommendable - but this one, located in wonderful Marais, a few steps away from metro-line no. 1, definitely is. You might not absolutely enjoy the bric-à-brac decoration, but the place is quiet and clean. Our (big) room was in very good shape with excellent beds and mattresses, the bathroom functional, clean, new and... More

Look, it isn't 5 star and it doesn't try to be. This place is a basic, French, hotel - don't expect American size or furniture. The hotel is quiet and clean and the rates are some of the best in Paris. This is a couple block walk from the Saint Paul metro station and if you want you can walk... More

Stayed for just one night. Although with quite simple accomodations, this hotel has some decorative stuff that give some atmosphere of a thematic hotel. Overall, it seemed overprized to me, even considering its great location.

I have just returned from Paris. I live in Las Vegas where I was part of the hotel casino business for many, many years. In the 60’s I was at the famous Sands Hotel with Sinatra, Dean Martin, Sammy and all the great entertainers we had. I visit Paris almost every year. I first found out about this place from... More

Staying in Le Marais

Neighborhood Profile
Le Marais
The Marais is a winding maze of multi-faceted streets that beg to be explored. It bursts with small boutiques, historic buildings, cozy traditional restaurants, and hidden parks. Around each corner, you'll come across little gems of architecture spanning the centuries, from understated medieval towers to classical libraries and 17th century splendor. This neighborhood unites a rich mix of people of all ages, but it's best known for the gay scene mostly in the south and the Jewish community around Rue des Rosiers.
