Hotel Esmeralda is in the perfect location and the views of Notre Dame are awesome. My sister and I are in our mid 20's and we loved it. There are many great cafes and places to eat nearby in the Latin Quarter, cool bars too. The rooms are quirky and definitely add to the charm of the hotel. There is... more

This hotel is okay. But that is all. Our room was tiny, which normally I don't mind but this was SMALL! We were shown a room at the front, with a view, as somone had cancelled and we could have had it for a cheaper rate. The carpet was COVERED in hair. It didn't look like it had been vacumed... more

My girlfriend and I stayed in this hotel for 3 nights in a room on the first floor with a beautiful view to the Notre-Dame. Very cosy room with 'English' wallpaper and some extravagant furniture. This hotel is something special, somewhat difficult to make a booking (we had to make 3 phonecalls and send 2 faxes before we got a... more

I consider staying at Esmeralda after reading reviews on this website. I called them to book about two month before, and the room is secured until the day we arrived. We got an en-suite double room on the very top floor. There have only stairs which is steep and narrow, so its really hard to go up with the luggage.... more

So the hotel is old, but thats part of the charm...they say that its maybe a one star, or two...but the location is... more

I have wanted to stay at Hotel Esmerelda since the early '80's when I read of its charm in Let's Go France. I was recently in Paris for 5 days for a medical conference--the official meeting hotel was 300 euros per night, so I thought this would be my chance to save a bundle and fulfil my dream to stay... more

To say it has old fashioned charm doesn't really fit the bill - this place is whacky! If you expect nice clean rooms where everything works you're going to be disappointed, but if you can laugh at quirkyness you'll have a ball. Great location, bags of character and just a little bit mad. more

We stayed at this 17th century hotel and really enjoyed our time there. Now understand this is a one star hotel, so if you want thrills and amenities, this is not for you. But if you want a great located hotel at a great location, at a great price 85Euros, then this is it. When you can look outside your... more

I haven't stayed there in a long while, but I needed to let you all know that this place was a fantastic find. It's like something out of Paris of the 1700s. The rooms were small, dark, sparesly decorated-my small room opened up to a shaft, and this pigeion, a few times, would sit at my window sill, but then... more
