Great location for access to Bastille Metro and Marais sites. Staff was very helpful. Room and bathroom very clean, however, the room was very small. Barely room for our large suitcases, but that was the only downside. For Paris, it is worth the price.

We had triple room on 5th floor. We didn't feel like we were in Paris. It was that quiet. All the staff we encountered were very nice. On our way to train station I realized I had one earring on. I knew where I had it. I called hotel and asked receptionist to look for it. He found it. I... More

this hotel was an utter disappointment from beginning to end. We arrived exhausted and jet lagged having taken an 11 hour flight from California to be entirely ignored by the front desk as we waited with our bags. It was awkward. We stood, smiling as he sat at his desk two feet from us and pretending we were not there.... More

I got the recommendations fr Tripadvisor to stay here. Though its a 3 star hotel and the price i paid excluded breakfast, it was a very good stay at a good location for solo traveller especially. Its 5 mins walk fr Bastille metro station and 1 train station away to Gare De Lyon train station (as i was travelling to... More

I had made my booking online with special requests for the room.if I hadn't called, they wouldn't have called back to tell me champagne was not available at the hotel.but once I placed the call, the receptionist (Herve) was very helpful and guided me through the online delivery services. The room was clean and they have us the room with access to... More

We enjoyed our stay at Castex Hotel. The hotel is in a great location very near the Bastille subway stop. We loved all the cafes and fruit stands that were near by. The staff was accommodating, locking our luggage up upon arrival as we got to Paris very early in the morning. Our room was small but nicely decorated. We... More

First trip to the Castex was in 1999 with my family and we had such a good time I have been recommending it to friends ever since. Returned recently with a friend to attend the French Open. Still a wonderful location, clean but smallish room and nice bathroom with great water pressure. The front desk was always helpful and I... More

Just home from our 3 day stay here and would not hesitate recommending the Castex to anyone. On arrival we were given our room on the ground floor facing the little courtyard, this would be a lovely little spot in the warmer weather to have a little glass of wine before heading out. As previous reviews have said the rooms... More

Comfortable room, friendly staff. Very close to Bastille station and access to all of Paris. Quiet street with very comfortable beds. Walk to Picasso museum. Good Asian restaurant across the street as well as small Italian restaurant, Cucina Napoletana, with the best homemade cheesecake.

The Castex is a charming small hotel located in one of the most beautiful neighborhoods in Paris. My daughter and I stayed there three nights. Staff were pleasant and helpful, made dinner reservations for us, gave recommendations and extended our checkout time on the last day. We always felt secure in our room. Basically, we enjoyed everything about our stay.... More

Staying in Le Marais

Neighborhood Profile
Le Marais
The Marais is a winding maze of multi-faceted streets that beg to be explored. It bursts with small boutiques, historic buildings, cozy traditional restaurants, and hidden parks. Around each corner, you'll come across little gems of architecture spanning the centuries, from understated medieval towers to classical libraries and 17th century splendor. This neighborhood unites a rich mix of people of all ages, but it's best known for the gay scene mostly in the south and the Jewish community around Rue des Rosiers.
