In the heart of the Marais, 3 blocks from the Bastille. Quiet, quaint, friendly, small, perfect in every way. I almost hate to recommend it for fear it will become too well known. Each time I return I feel as if I am coming home. Thank you Eskander and all the wonderful staff. Barbara Turpin

Good location but very rustic place, nothing's practical, small and semi-clean room needs to be totally redone for 21st Century comfort. There must be much better accommodation in the same location/district.

My experience at the Castex was tres bien!. The hotel is conveniently located two blocks from the Bastille metro, and within walking distance to so many historic sites, shops and darling bistros. While the room was small, it was immaculately clean and the service was excellent. The complimentary bottle of wine was a nice touch and very welcome after a... More

Very pleasant hotel within walking distance of Les Marais, Paris Metro and other sights. Quiet and clean, with good quality linens and a very helpful front desk staff. Breakfast was very fresh but there is also a good patisserie right around the corner.

Tucked away in an alley, hidden within the vibrant Marais neighborhood, Hotel Castex does not disappoint. With charming rooms, complete with a small bottle of wine, a room safe and hairdryer - what more could you ask for? The service was friendly and available at all times. The central outside patio is tiny but adorable - perfect for a morning... More

Great location for access to Bastille Metro and Marais sites. Staff was very helpful. Room and bathroom very clean, however, the room was very small. Barely room for our large suitcases, but that was the only downside. For Paris, it is worth the price.

We had triple room on 5th floor. We didn't feel like we were in Paris. It was that quiet. All the staff we encountered were very nice. On our way to train station I realized I had one earring on. I knew where I had it. I called hotel and asked receptionist to look for it. He found it. I... More

this hotel was an utter disappointment from beginning to end. We arrived exhausted and jet lagged having taken an 11 hour flight from California to be entirely ignored by the front desk as we waited with our bags. It was awkward. We stood, smiling as he sat at his desk two feet from us and pretending we were not there.... More

I got the recommendations fr Tripadvisor to stay here. Though its a 3 star hotel and the price i paid excluded breakfast, it was a very good stay at a good location for solo traveller especially. Its 5 mins walk fr Bastille metro station and 1 train station away to Gare De Lyon train station (as i was travelling to... More

I had made my booking online with special requests for the room.if I hadn't called, they wouldn't have called back to tell me champagne was not available at the hotel.but once I placed the call, the receptionist (Herve) was very helpful and guided me through the online delivery services. The room was clean and they have us the room with access to... More

Staying in Le Marais

Neighborhood Profile
Le Marais
The Marais is a winding maze of multi-faceted streets that beg to be explored. It bursts with small boutiques, historic buildings, cozy traditional restaurants, and hidden parks. Around each corner, you'll come across little gems of architecture spanning the centuries, from understated medieval towers to classical libraries and 17th century splendor. This neighborhood unites a rich mix of people of all ages, but it's best known for the gay scene mostly in the south and the Jewish community around Rue des Rosiers.
