Perfect location, on a quiet street, in the highly sought after Marais/Bastille neighborhood. Everything went smoothly and couldn't have been better. The hotel was clean, super comfortable, & convenient. The staff was helpful in arranging my ride to the airport, the wifi was fine both in the lobby and my room, and I loved the window to the courtyard. I... More

The hotel is, in my opinion, a typical small hotel in Paris. Clean and with the conveniences expected. The room I was assigned was very small and on the top floor. Positives: - Nice location close to the Metro station Bastille - Quiet stree (can sleep with window open) - High speed on WiFi Negatives: - Strong detergent used by... More

Located an easy two blocks walk from Bastile Metro. Smaller hotel which adds to the charm! We were greeted in English and promptly set off to dump our luggage! The breakfast is in the basement which is very nicely decorated but way over priced. 13€ for cold breakfast items but good! The Rick Steve's Paris travel book does get you... More

Hotel Castex is situated in a little side street a few minutes walk away from the metro station at Bastille – make sure you take the exit for Rue Saint-Antoine and not the exit for Rue du Faubourg Saint-Antoine. The names are very similar but the exits are at opposite ends of the Place Bastille. Check in was quick and... More

We choose the Castex Hotel because of its location and been close to the La Bastille metro/tube station and walking distance from Notre Dames. We found the Hotel also close to the Picasso museum in the Marias Quarter. We found the staff to be very friendly. Alexandra was most helpful with general information and getting us to the airport. The... More

Staff was very friendly except the Gentelmen with a pony. Location was great. Nice Restaurants, Bars nearby, The only think to mention is that the rooms are very warm, we had to leave the window open.

We only stayed in the hotel for one night. The hotel is small and very cosy, located just a few steps from Bastille metro station and rue Rivoli, on a very quiet street. We liked the location and the Marais Quarter a lot, would love to come back. The hotel stuff is very friendly and helpful, we felt welcome from... More

A perfectly located hotel in Paris best arrondissement. Very quiet but only a few hundred meters to most closest metro. Walking in to the centre of Paris is no problem, but you could enjoy a whole day in the forth with shops, museum an nice restaurants.

Four family travelers in two adjoining rooms and they were lovely. The location is an easy walk to the Seine and to the Bastille metro stop. Great cafe on the corner and lots of wonderful Marais happenings, restaurants and shops (even a nearby Monoprix..it's like a French Target Store) on Rue St. Antoine and Blvd Henri IV. Some staff speak... More

Just a 10 minute walk from the Gare de Lyon, the Castex is situated on a quiet road with lots of cafes, restaurants etc. in the vicinity. On arrival the man on the front desk welcomed us and took the time to chat a little in very good English. There is a small elevator which took us to the 3rd... More

Staying in Le Marais

Neighborhood Profile
Le Marais
The Marais is a winding maze of multi-faceted streets that beg to be explored. It bursts with small boutiques, historic buildings, cozy traditional restaurants, and hidden parks. Around each corner, you'll come across little gems of architecture spanning the centuries, from understated medieval towers to classical libraries and 17th century splendor. This neighborhood unites a rich mix of people of all ages, but it's best known for the gay scene mostly in the south and the Jewish community around Rue des Rosiers.
