I'd like to start by writing how pleasant and accommodating the hotel Staff was. We arrived late to find our "charming" room (# 10) substandard and also had a very odd smell. We expressed our dissatisfaction and were immediately upgraded to a junior suite for the night at no extra charge (this was all they had available) The next morning... More

I recently had two separate two-night stays at this charming hotel in the heart of the Marais. Both times, I stayed in room 19, a "classic room" (the Bretonnerie's term for a standard room). The room was spacious (for Paris), and very clean and comfortable. It was decorated in French country style, with wood-beamed ceilings and antique reproduction furniture. The... More

A good value and a great location. Rooms in the back of the hotel are quieter.

We arrived at Hotel Bretonnerie as scheduled at midnight to being a five night stay. They had no reservation for us and no cot as pre arranged for our baby. With no apology, they found us a room (without a cot) and told us we would have to change to another in the morning. The room was nice and we... More

We were 3 females - varying in age from 30's to 60's - and had a wonderful triple room on the 3rd floor, looking into a small bare courtyard. The room was decorated with Parisian flair and was a generous "U' shape - space is a premium in Paris - and the loo was compact but spotless. The separate bathroom... More

Location! Location! Location! This is a great hotel in the very lively 4th district. Rooms are on the small side, the staff was friendly (but no overly helpful), but the place felt safe (I was traveling alone-woman in her 30's). You can walk to almost every site from this hotel, and there are many great restaurants and cafes in this... More

My girlfriend and I stayed at this lovely hotel during last December (four nights) and found it to be a very charming, clean, friendly and perfectly (perfectly!) located place to stay. The hotel is located in the 4th District, the Marais, close to the ancient Jewish quarter. The Metro is close (Hotel de Ville) and one can use to get... More

We spent Christmas 2007 here - our first Christmas ever outside UK. What a marvellous thing to do. That continental breakfast fills you up just as well as a full English but without the guilt. The front of house staff were marvellous (we are all people so if you treat others as lowlife you can only expect to be treated... More

Charming hotel in the centre of the Marais District. Our "charming" double room was facing the courtyard on the second floor (third floor for us Yankees). Mattress was comfortable as well as the pillows. Lighting in the room was not very good at night. Taking off the lampshade of one of the lamps really helped. The bathroom was clean and... More

Spent 2 nights at the Bretonnerie Sept 11-13. Can't say enough about this great little hotel. Had room on 3rd floor..by Paris standards the room was enormous! ( Friends came by to pick us up for dinner and 6 of us could actually sit in the room comfortably) French doors overloking narrow street, exposed beams, extra pillows. Very comfortable double...
