We have a lovely 4 day stay at this hotel while visiting friends in Rue Des Archives. We didn't take the breakfast option, there are two wonderful bakeries within 100m. Our room was on the third floor (there's a lift) and faced into the small courtyard on the right of the entrance door. The room was quiet - even though... More

Delightful hotel where you feel welcome as soon as you step through the door. To say you are in the centre of Paris there is no street noise, beautifully quiet as is the hotel, which is bliss, especially at night, an oasis of calm. The breakfast room in the cellar is great with unlimited coffee, freshly squeezed orange juice, fruit... More

I have now been a guest at this lovely hotel for three visits to Paris. Staying at the Hotel Bretonnerie is such a sweet pleasure. Not a touristy place, but still one where the staff does whatever it takes to make your stay a pleasant one in Paris. One visit my friend became ill and the staff was amazing in... More

This was our second stay here and we weren't disappointed. This time we had a better (and more expensive) room. The room was comfortable and well-kept, if a bit cluttered with unnecessary furniture, and the bathroom was large, if slightly oddly designed (small bath, no shower, no heated towel rail). Our room overlooked a courtyard where noisy building work began... More

We checked this hotel out after checking in at the very clean, modern but not especially atmospheric or Parisian Hotel Duo nearby. Immediately this made a better impression, with a dark, rich red reception and a very friendly girl on reception who let us see the rooms before committing ourselves. Hmmm.... first up room had vile dark green decor that... More

I stayed here for a week in April with my mother. She had been to Paris many times, and wanted to take me. She had stayed at Bretonnerie three times before, so it was a no brainner that we would stay there on our trip. This place really helped make my experience amazing. The location is so central and close... More

We stayed at Bretonnerie for three nights. I loved the neighborhood, with the variety of shops and historical sites. We were able to walk all over the place from here, partly because we were so enthusiastic about walking. The room itself had water stains on the walls. Linens and towels were very old. I got my toe caught in a... More

First of all, the location is great, walking distance to many of the most popular tourist sites. And the neighborhood ... eclectic would be too mild of a word. Lots of shops and restaurants for all types of lifestyles. The sidewalk cafes were a seeming neverending party. As far as the hotel, no complaints at all. If you have ever... More

Staying in Le Marais

Neighborhood Profile
Le Marais
The Marais is a winding maze of multi-faceted streets that beg to be explored. It bursts with small boutiques, historic buildings, cozy traditional restaurants, and hidden parks. Around each corner, you'll come across little gems of architecture spanning the centuries, from understated medieval towers to classical libraries and 17th century splendor. This neighborhood unites a rich mix of people of all ages, but it's best known for the gay scene mostly in the south and the Jewish community around Rue des Rosiers.
