We went to paris last year on a flight from iceland with IcelandAir. We first stayed in Opera district and moved over to this hotel for the next 2 nights. Easy to find once you get off the Vavin metro stop. Reception people were quite pleasant and rooms were tiny but who cares...you come here to experience life! The room... More

A wonderful place to stay only 10 minutes stroll from Jardin Du Luxembourg, less than 2 minutes from Vavin metro. Very helpful staff, compact but perfectly adequate room with a lovely large picture printed on the wall above the bed. Clean and tidy. Breakfast is help yourself with lots to choose from in a lovely little kitchen/diner in the basement.... More

My husband and I stayed at this hotel for one night; quick weekend trip. We arrived to the hotel early and our room was not ready. So, we were able to leave our luggage there while we left to explore the city. This hotel is very close to the metro. However, we prefer to walk most every city. Unfortunately, this... More

Dear Jackie, Thanks for your time to write a review regarding your stay at Atelier Saint Germain hotel. We’re sorry to read that it didn’t meet your expectations. Nevertheless we’re quite surprised that you didn’t like the location as so many previous guests. Luxembourg garden and its museum are only at 10 minutes walk for example. As the hotel was... More

Very enjoyable stay in Paris at this hotel. Loved the location right by the Blvd du Montparnasse, with lots of cafes and restaurants in close walking distance. We arrived at Orly airport and flew out of Charles de Gaulle, so we chose this hotel since it is close to the RER B train line that goes between the airports. The... More

My wife and I stayed at this hotel for two nights and were overall very pleased. First of all, a review wouldn't be complete without mentioning the great location! It's not smack-dab in the centre of Paris by the Seine, but it is in the 6th arrondissement which is a recurring member on most lists of the best arrondissements to... More

The hotel is tiny but so cute and homey. The girl at the reception was lovely and extremely helpful and pleasant to chat to but there was a guy who was on on weekends and nights that didn't really speak English and wasn't very helpful. The rooms are clean but I didn't like that our cups weren't changed every day... More

Stayed here for six nights on our honeymoon. We got the Superior (Arabesque) room. The room was extremely clean and very modern. It was recently renovated and they did a very good job. My wife and I just stayed there in the last month for our 25th Anniversary. The rates are very reasonable, includes breakfast and air conditioning. Atelier Saint-Germain: Don't be fooled...no 3.5 star here The overall 3.5 star rating of this hotel is definitely exaggerated. We stayed here for 5 nights and can honestly say that a 2 star rating is more appropriate. First of all, room 21 was very small even by European standards. The condition of the room requires painting and overall cleaning. The... More

Staying in Saint-Germain-des-Pres

Neighborhood Profile
Saint-Germain-des-Pres
In Saint-Germain-des-Prés, life is effortlessly chic and all things are beautiful. The main boulevard is dotted with famed terraced cafés, haut-couture shops, ivy-covered railings and fine-dining restaurants. Antique dealers and art galleries surround the fine art school and small museums hide in unassuming squares. The neighborhood’s namesake church is the oldest in Paris and is the backdrop for talented musicians every weekend. The Luxembourg Gardens house the national senate, splendid lawns and flourishing flower beds. Famous faces and bourgeois Parisians frequent Saint Germain accompanied by the students of Rue Saint Guillaume and Rue des Saints-Pères. This is a neighborhood where afternoon people-watching from a café or playing cards in a brasserie are a key part of the daily fabric.
