What a little gem the place is. Spent 3 nights here whilst visiting Paris with my girlfriend. General positives were: -Location: near metro, restaurants + shops -Cleanliness: Very clean and tidy throughout. Room was tidied very well each morning. -Staff: Very welcoming and happy to help -Breakfast: Nice gesture as free and was more than sufficient for each morning -Rooms:... More

We spent the Easter weekend in Paris and stayed at the Hotel George Opera for 3 nights. The hotel exceeded our expectations, mainly due to the friendliness of all the staff. Our room on the first floor was small, with a window not facing the street, but had a very comfortable bed. I really enjoyed the cleanliness of the room... More

What sets this hotel apart is the excellent staff. They are a credit to their organisation. We dealt mainly with Zinedine and Anees (hope I spelt those right!) and were absolutely taken aback by how helpful they were. Whether it was a travel adapter, general queries, organising a taxi or even getting milk at 1am, they were more than happy to... More

This hotel is great. Perfect location, only 20 mins walking to Ile de la Cite and 15 mins walking to Sacre Coeur. No more than 10 minutes walking to Galeries Lafayette. Clean rooms and excellent service, the staff was really nice. Definitely would recommend it and will book again for future trips to Paris.

The hotel is a 20 min walk from Gare du Nord and about 30 min from Place de la Concorde. It is a bright and friendly place to stay. The rooms are comfortable and the staff are lovely. The breakfast is a great selection. The lift is small (as expected for a retrofit in a Parisian building). I enjoyed this... More

If you are searching for reasonably priced rooms in Paris, you will notice that most of them are fairly small in comparison to other European cities. The George is no exception. However, this is no reason to not opt for this place. It has pleasant rooms with a decent bathroom. The hotel has a chill out area where they provide... More

Quick review for this hotel, I would sum it up by saying we were unlucky with the room we were given. First impressions of the lobby were good, friendly check-in (unexpected for France), very modern, great location, all good so far. Got to room, seemed very dingy...was clean and modern again...but no natural light. Faced a wall with other rooms.... More

Beautifully decorated hotel in a great location. The rooms are clean, bright and well set out to maximise space. We were able to walk most places such as the louvre, Eiffel Tower and to lots of great shops and restaurants. The breakfast was an amazing assortment of French cuisine including pastries, cheeses, cold cuts, quiches, omelettes and much more. The... More

Excellent hotel. The service was perfect. The room had a good size (considering that this is Paris...I could say that the room was big). Highly recommend. The location is good. Specially if you are going to visit places near the opera or la Fayette.

It is a wonderful hotel! We were very well received by Zinedine ! The breakfast was spectacular and the decoration is charming ! George Opera is near the metro, which facilitates travel throughout Paris. Besides this, it is located in a street full of great restaurants. Excellent cost benefit!

Staying in Opera / Bourse

Neighborhood Profile
Opera / Bourse
The neighborhood around Opéra and Bourse is a belle époque paradise of grand boulevards, refined arcades, and mass-market art-nouveau entertainment. Here, modern day workers continue to take advantage of the legacy that nobility and finance left in the 19th century. Brightly-lit brasseries, theaters, and cinemas sit side by side with French bistros predominating in one area and Japanese restaurants in another. The area is most famous for the Palais Garnier opera house and glamorous department stores.
