The most disappointing thing I had traveling to Paris overall was how wrong all the travel books (Yes, that includes Rick Steve's), travel blogs, even friends warned me about this city. Paris and Hotel Splendid broke down ALL those 'myths'. Like: 1. When in France, you must speak French otherwise they may be rude to you - Nope, wrong. Yes... More

This was our first trip to Paris, and I did a lot of research before booking as I am picky and I has specific wants, such as to be in a smaller hotel that was clean, close to the Eiffel Tower and Rue Cler, with good staff and a room with a balcony. Based on what I was looking for,... More

We arrived at Hotel Splendid quite early so we didn't expect our room to be ready, as thought it wasn't. But the man in reception said we could keep our bags there and come back in a short while. We were in Paris so we were dying to get out in the city anyway. We soon found ourselves at the... More

We stayed 2 nights at this hotel. The location was great ! The room was big by downtown Paris standards. We had a comfy queen bed, desk and chair, nice bathroom with full tub/shower, safe in the room and free wi-fi. Everything was very clean. The room had two lovely french doors that each opened to their own Juliet balcony,... More

The rules stated children under age 3 stay free, & children over 3 stay free when using existing beds. Our daughters 2&8 brought sleeping bags. We were forced to rent a 2nd room upon arrival even though no one slept in there. We all slept in the original room booked as planed with no problem. It would have been a... More

We visited Paris in April 2015 and stayed for 4 nights. About the hotel and location > The room was smaller than I expected, one room and en-suite bathrooms. But we were ok as we hardly stayed in the room. > Prices were reasonable. > Hotel is near to Effile Tower. > Short distance from ecole militaire (Metro Stop), which... More

I ended up staying at this hotel in Paris, and i managed to book it about two days before i got to Paris! First of all it was easy to find right on the corner. The hotel itself looked a bit old, but we (my sister and i) found it cozy. We booked a standard room and the view was... More

My wife and I went to Paris for a 20th anniversary. We stayed at this hotel for a few nights. It was a wonderful experience there. It was walking distance to the Eiffel Tower, Invalides, the Rodin museum, metro stop, and our favorite find...Rue Cler-- a local market street with cafes and shops. The staff was more than friendly.

Quite a good little spot and close to everything central. Staff very helpful with early check in and luggage hold after checkout at no extra cost. Hop on hop off bus passes the door and Eiffel Tower a short stroll away. Plenty of cafes close by

Had a lovely break in Paris staying at Hotel Splendid, great location, clean, tidy and very friendly reception team, no issue with hotel. Would recommend hotel, within walking distance of Eiffiel Tower and many other key locations. Supermarket close by in addition to local metro.

Staying in Tour Eiffel / Invalides

Neighborhood Profile
Tour Eiffel / Invalides
With the Eiffel Tower at its core, the Invalides area of Paris is guaranteed to impress. Golden towers and Baron Haussmann's urban vision meet military precision, stretching avenues, and luscious lawns. The area boasts the Musée D’Orsay, the tomb of Napoleon, the National Parliament and UNESCO, as well as luxurious, exclusive residences. In fine restaurants and at the weekend markets, families, diplomats, and politicians brush shoulders with the tourists who come to see this postcard-perfect area for themselves.
