This hotel is on a great location near metro station and 4 minutes from Louvre. Lots of restaurants and pubs just 5-10 minutes away. That concludes good things about it and the reason why we chose this hotel. Now unpleasantness: 1. Don't trust photos from their official website. I will upload photos from our room. Superior (and more expensive) room... More

we/party of 4 showed up, and were quite jet lagged. my girlfriend had read some negative reviews and we were apprehensive about hotel tonic. we had reserved two deluxe rooms with a single king bed we received one and another with three single beds, in our sleep deprived paranoia we became very concerned. after a nap, voila! we were in... When checking in the hotel had no spare cards for the room. "My card" had probably been used for a couple of months so it was not possible to program. Since the hotel had no spares I ended up getting the master key... Very questionable considering you never know if any other guest with bad intent has a master key... More

This is an old hotel with friendly staff. Very good location, close too metro. The rooms are old fashion but clean. Quite area and no notice. The breakfast is poor and not worth the money. The price for this hotel is absolutely too high.

I need to note up front that I did not stay at the Tonic Hotel, but was staying across the street at an apartment we had rented. Well, we locked ourselves out of the second floor apartment and had no way to get back in. The owners were out of town, it was evening, and a locksmith would have cost... More

The hotel was clean but very basic. The location is excellent for exploring Paris as it is close to Notre Dame and the Louvre. The staff were mostly friendly and helpful. Good luck fitting more than two people into the lift and make sure that you don't book the fifth floor as the lift only goes to the fourth. Some... More

There were four of us staying in a room at the Tonic. They put four single beds in a row in a small room, but since the rooms in Europe are usually much smaller than in the US we didn't mind. Since we didn't spend much time in the room it really didn't matter anyway. The beds were comfortable and... More

This very central Hotel, close to Rue de Rivoli, is a good idea if you do not have lots of time to waste on the Metro. Walk 7 minutes to le Vert Galant, Pont neuf, the Notre Dame around the next corner and the whole lively Sorbonne area on the left Bank. The hotel is clean and comfortable, the tiniest... More

The Tonic Hotel Louvre is in a great location but... I reserved and pre-paid for a "superior" room but upon check-in was given the key to one of the standard rooms. I did switch rooms but the superior room was still very, very small. The bath size was larger though the view of the internal stone wall shaft was less... More

Let's start with the obvious. Terrible service. Lobby manager lies that hotel is full in order to avoid switching rooms. Rooms are dirty and as small as a Chinese prison. Our room has a window to an internal air shaft that stinks of urine and filth. Which was why we wanted to switch to a street facing room. Do not... More

Staying in Les Halles

Neighborhood Profile
Les Halles
Historically the central iron-clad market of Paris, Les Halles has evolved architecturally since then but the pulsating energy has stayed the same. Now it houses the main shopping mall, which nestles underground surrounded by fast-food take-aways and international restaurants coupled with beautiful churches and the old commodity exchange. Parallel to it are the high-street stores of Rue de Rivoli and just parallel to that the Seine. The area bustles with faces from all continents and all ages at all times of the day. If enjoying high-street shopping with easy access to fast eateries and lively bars is on your agenda, this is the place to go.
