Paris was the first stop on our European holiday, and our travel agent booked for us to stay at the hotel opera Lafayette. You first enter a sweetly decorated foyer, and are "greeted" by one of the staff at the reception. None of the staff seem very welcoming or helpful but after spending a week in Paris we found that... First, I'm remiss in not writing sooner. We were booked here via our travel agent in Adelaide and although we had confirmed booking through the agency; on our arrival there were no rooms left! Nevertheless the manager went out of his way to help and in about 30 minutes found us accommodation at the nearby Hotel Opera Cadet at no... More

I've been in Paris for three days and i decided to book this hotel because: 1) very close to the Centre - Operà, Louvre, Champs Eysèe are easy 10/15min walking. 2) Metro is 200mt from the Hotel. 3) For shopping Galeries LaFayette are just around the corner. The staff was normally gentle and polite, but the fares for the room-service... More

Unfortunately there is not one nice thing i can say about this hotel, if you can call it that. To begin we had, had a terrible experience already getting from the airport to the hotel arriving an hour before check-in time. When we asked to check in we were simply told no by the very rude and blunt staff. They... More

Had a great time staying here. Well located, but don't start walking North, the area's a bit worrying. Head straight for the Opera and forget about chocker site like Versailles. The Oepra House is about 1km away and is fantastic. Loved the small French breakfast tables and the staff. Actually really liked my room. Wifi was great. Just a standard... More

Stayed there for a week , the staff was kind , the hotel is at a walking distance to the metro Anvers station and basilique sacrée cœur . The hotel is clean although it lacks some refreshment and improvement . On the 4th floor couldn't have access to the hotel wifi . Didn't have breakfast there so no idea how... More

My 'Single' request resulted in a largish room, comfy double bed, full sized bathroom (with bath) and a working bar fridge. Not bad for openers for a 3 Star Paris hotel!. A bedside lamp by which I could actually read in bed - and that does not happen too often - believe me.! A lovely view of the restaurant over... More

The Location of the Hotel between Gare du Nord and Opera was excellent! Good Restaurants and Bistro' s are in walking distance same as many sights. The Hotel was supposed to be three stars, which it was for sure not! The room was so small that we had real difficulty to place the luggage and still to have a way... More

Stayed here during the half term and once again we felt we had picked well. Situated about 10 minutes from Gare du Nord, along the long, straight Rue de lafyette. We arrived to a warm welcome and were given a nice room on the 1st floor facing the road. Our daughter really wanted a balcony,( as we had stayed in... More

Good location, clean, good breakfast in very nice breakfast room & overall good service. Room size was what we expected for Paris. Hallways & elevator are a bit claustrophobic though. Definitely would stay there again.

Staying in Opera / Bourse

Neighborhood Profile
Opera / Bourse
The neighborhood around Opéra and Bourse is a belle époque paradise of grand boulevards, refined arcades, and mass-market art-nouveau entertainment. Here, modern day workers continue to take advantage of the legacy that nobility and finance left in the 19th century. Brightly-lit brasseries, theaters, and cinemas sit side by side with French bistros predominating in one area and Japanese restaurants in another. The area is most famous for the Palais Garnier opera house and glamorous department stores.
