This hotel is very good value and we really enjoyed our stay here. It is friendly, well-cared for, clean and quiet and in a convenient location, close to bus routes (numbers 20 and 65 straight to the Gare de Lyon!) and several metro stations. As it is on a side-street it is quiet - yet there are good restaurants and... More

This review is really more of a 3.5 star, but alas There is only full star rating options. The staff was extremely friendly and nice, letting us peruse their books and recommending things in the surrounding neighborhood. This review is somewhat biased as it was my first stay in France, but I was shocked at how small the room was.... More

I have stayed in this hotel in Dec 2014. I arrived early before check in time. Staff are very friendly and helpful, speak good English. Hotel is small but elegant, Wi-Fi is free and the "lobby" has a computer and a printer which can be helpful during travel. Rooms are quite but not very well isolated, you can hear your... More

Set on a small side street that parallels Blvd Beaumarchais, his is a neat hotel with a hip vibe. Unique, punch hole key cards (that you turn into the front desk each time you leave) represent the quirkiness of this little place. Little is a key word here. The rooms are tiny! I stayed in room 5, and the bed... More

I loved this quality French hotel. It has a superb location for exploring Paris, and is close by to some great bars and restaurants. The rooms are cozy (small), well decorated and warm. I wouldn't hesitate in staying in this hotel again. The reception staff were welcoming and provided great recommendations to local restaurants and bars. My only complaint was... More

Great hotel, front desk staff very friendly and helpful. Excellent location, very clean and perfect for the price. Stayed in a room overlooking the courtyard and couldn't hear any street/other room noise all night. Exactly what I was looking for!

Great little hotel, in the Bastille region of Paris. Hotel is clean& friendly -- Not ground-breaking or anything like that but everything you need/want for a city break. We loved being in this area of Paris, because you could still walk to many of the sights etc, but it felt more "French" and not quite so touristy. So Yay! :-)

3 nights in Paris, October 2014. Booked a late trip to Paris and found this hotel, looked good and decent price. Yes, location in great and very good value. Clean but small rooms (yes, you are in Paris). Quiet location even if you get a room to the street. Breakfast with good selection, 12€ - good value for a hotel... More

As the hotel's responses to previous "terrible' ratings indicate, the hotel management is incapable of admitting its mistakes and the notion of "customer is always right" is foreign to them. I first reserved 2 nights through an online service then additional 2 nights when the very nice reception clerk Cristelle offered a discount after I found a sublet at a... More

Staying in Bastille / Oberkampf

Neighborhood Profile
Bastille / Oberkampf
Bastille and Oberkampf are lively parts of town made for entertainment. During the day rows of unassuming bars welcome customers for a bite or a drink, but it’s at night this area really comes to life. Students and young professionals fill the busy bars around Bastille and Oberkampf. At Place de la Bastille, crowds flock to the Opéra Bastille in the evening and groups wait for coveted tickets during the day. Towards Republique, skateboarders practice their tricks while others chill out at the square. If you’re looking for late-night revelry, this is your neighborhood.
