First and foremost - when going to Europe...anywhere in Europe...do not expect to stay in the largest hotel room you've ever stayed in. It's not what they do. Everyone tends to comment on how small the rooms are, so when traveling, just expect a small room. That said, Prince de Conde was great! This boutique hotel was such a refreshing... More

Even though the staff was nice, I found my room not clean. I stayed for one night, arrived late and had to leave early, so I didn't complain, but it was disappointing. The hotel is cozy, but definitely not a 4 star hotel. Location is great. Room was cold!

Prince de Conde is a very nice boutique hotel in small, quaint building on a street just off Boulevard Saint Germain. The location is excellent, very near Saint Michael-Notre Dame metro and the RER trains, which use the same station. (RER 'B' takes you direct to CDG airport in 30 minutes.) It's a five minute walk to the Seine, Pont... More

The Left Bank in Paris is my absolute favorite quartier (neighborhood). St. Germain in particular is adorable and fun, with tons of shopping, restaurants, gorgeous churches, charming alleys, and amazing architecture all so representative of Paris. We only had a night in Paris this trip but the Prince de Conde was the perfect place to spend it, so centrally located... More

HOTEL Prince Conde. Small, 12 room hotel in Latin Quarter. Very near Seine, 15 min walk to musee D'Orsay. Ten min to Blvd St. Germain. Lots of lively nightlife. Charming w excellent bathroom. Room a bit small, inadequate facilities for putting away clothes. Full breakfast is 15 E which is$19. Way overpriced. Better to get baguette, fruit etc or eat in... More

The hotel Prince de Conde is a small, boutique hotel situated in a fabulous location. The St Germain district, located on the left bank is a trendy cafe-filled area that gives a comfortable, neighborhood feel. The hotel is on a very narrow street filled with many art galleries and just a five minute walk to the Seine. The beds were... More

I almost hesitate to write this to let others in on the secret...this place is really wonderful. Very convenient to walk to Notre Dame, Musee d'Orsay, the Louvre, and all the cafes and shops and sights in St. Germain. The 1st floor room we had was a bit noisy (lots of street cleaning/deliveries in the morning; lots of traffic and... More

This is an itsy bitsy hotel in the middle of St. Germaine. The hotel is a little small which is be expected for Paris but makes up for it with its location and charm. The rooms are highly stylized and the French windows make you feel like you stepped right into a fairy tale. The hotel is right around the... More

This is a beautiful little spot in a great location in St Germain. The staff are lovely and helpful, the rooms are great and cosy. Around the corner from La Palette, a terrific little cafe. And a very very good value. Will definitely return!!

Small boutique hotel (only 2 rooms/floor). Rooms are clean and cosy with unique furniture pieces in each. Only annoying thing was figuring out how to open the old-style doors the first time (locks were tricky and the room our parents had would stick) (also they are heavy so you basically have to slam them to shut). Location is great, short... More

Staying in Saint-Germain-des-Pres

Neighborhood Profile
In Saint-Germain-des-Prés, life is effortlessly chic and all things are beautiful. The main boulevard is dotted with famed terraced cafés, haut-couture shops, ivy-covered railings and fine-dining restaurants. Antique dealers and art galleries surround the fine art school and small museums hide in unassuming squares. The neighborhood’s namesake church is the oldest in Paris and is the backdrop for talented musicians every weekend. The Luxembourg Gardens house the national senate, splendid lawns and flourishing flower beds. Famous faces and bourgeois Parisians frequent Saint Germain accompanied by the students of Rue Saint Guillaume and Rue des Saints-Pères. This is a neighborhood where afternoon people-watching from a café or playing cards in a brasserie are a key part of the daily fabric.
