This hotel is located on a side street off of St. Michaels. Which, like other reviews say, if cafe/bistro central!!! The hotel is small, but thats what I liked most about it. With 38 rooms that is set up like a house, you aren't bothered by massive amounts of traffic. The staff, like every said, is wonderful!! They know english... More

We chose this lovely little hotel to celebrate out 1st year wedding anniversary in - and we couldn't have chosen a more wonderful place! A week before our stay I e-mailed to request a non-smoking room, and a very prompt (only 3 hours later!) reply was sent and confirmed. Upon arrival we were thanked for our e-mail and given the... We were hesitant about what to expect from this hotel because of the mixed reviews we had read, but in the end were very pleased with our stay. The room was in fact small, but why complain? It was very cozy and most importantly, clean. The concierge was extremely helpful in recommending what to see and do, and the location... More

We stayed at this hotel based upon the stellar reviews from Tripadvisor. All in all it was an OK stay. It was cleaned everyday and it is centrally located. To be fair, I think part of the problem for me was the hotel's size...it's very small...almost more like a B&B. Our room was comfortable but was the smallest I've stayed... More

We decided we wanted to visit the Kieferexposition in the Paris Grand Palais, did so at short notice, made reservations for just one night, left Amsterdam at 4.00 Friday night, arrived at Clos Medicis at 9.30 Saturday morning, and were received by personnel that, while very busy helping people to leave, almost apologized for not having our room ready. If... More

We were planning to be in Paris for 3 days as part of a touring holiday. So we wanted a good 3 star hotel on the Left Bank, close to secure parking. Not an easy brief, especially over a busy weekend!! We chose this hotel based on the advice of other TravelAdvisor members, and it worked out well. The hotel... More

Because of timing our usual hotels in Paris were filled. At 240 euros this was not a great bargain. However, the staff was lovely and helpful. The rooms also were very clean and updated. The only downside is the size. I have stayed in many hotel room in Paris and this was the smallest three star hotel room I have... More

My wife and I have just enjoyed our first trip to Paris, staying at the Clos Medicis for 4 nights. I can only say that the hotel and its staff enhanced an truly enjoyable and memorable trip. The hotel was easy to get to from The Gard de Nord station, (arrived using Eurostar) having 2 Metro Stations ("Odeon" and "Cluny... More

For those of you who couldn't care less about atmosphere and just want a clean place to shower and sleep, then this review is not for you. I booked a last minute trip to Paris and was having a tough time in choosing a 3 star hotel. The only available properties seemed to be in charmless generic looking properties that... More

Staying in Saint-Germain-des-Pres

Neighborhood Profile
In Saint-Germain-des-Prés, life is effortlessly chic and all things are beautiful. The main boulevard is dotted with famed terraced cafés, haut-couture shops, ivy-covered railings and fine-dining restaurants. Antique dealers and art galleries surround the fine art school and small museums hide in unassuming squares. The neighborhood’s namesake church is the oldest in Paris and is the backdrop for talented musicians every weekend. The Luxembourg Gardens house the national senate, splendid lawns and flourishing flower beds. Famous faces and bourgeois Parisians frequent Saint Germain accompanied by the students of Rue Saint Guillaume and Rue des Saints-Pères. This is a neighborhood where afternoon people-watching from a café or playing cards in a brasserie are a key part of the daily fabric.
