For those of you who couldn't care less about atmosphere and just want a clean place to shower and sleep, then this review is not for you. I booked a last minute trip to Paris and was having a tough time in choosing a 3 star hotel. The only available properties seemed to be in charmless generic looking properties that... More

As first timers in Europe, we started our 2wk vacation in this little/ intimate hotel. We stayed for 4nights in the Classic room. Although the room was somewhat small, it was perfect for my girlfriend and I. Remember you're not moving to the hotel/room. All you need a comfortable place to go rest from all the walking. The bed was... More

Just returned from our first trip to France. Spent 7 days at this great little hotel. The rooms are very well designed. The photos posted by the hotel are totally representative. The bathroom was gleaming white and the housekeeping was superb. We were very comfortable there. The in room internet access let us keep in touch with our children back... More

I've stayed at Hotel le Clos Medicis several nights on two occasions over the years...each was a special time in this lovely little hotel. The reviews are in, and Hotel le Clos Medicis is a hit with most visitors. But time and again I read of the chief disappointment of her guests...that of the tiny typically Parisian rooms at this... We stayed in this gem of a hotel last weekend and were delighted with the hotel, staff and area. We made our booking directly with the hotel, as this gave us the best price, rather than using some of the hotel sites, which were more expensive. We originally made a 3 night booking, but ended up in London for the... More

We stayed here in early June for three nights and throughly enjoyed our time. This was our third visit to Paris and the first time at Le Clos Medicis. The rooms are typically Parisian smallish but clean and well organised. The staff were most helpful assisting with bookings and travel advice. The hotel is well maintained and in good order.... Just back from a delightful stay at Le Clos Medici. The rooms are on the small size (normal for Paris I'm told) but with a good sized bathroom and shower. We were on the 5th floor which was very quiet. We did not take breakfast in the hotel because the designated area was a bit uninspiring and it was a... More

Stayed at the Hotel Le Clos Medicis on my first visit to Paris in 2005. The staff was extremely helpful with directions, dinner reservations, calling cabs, etc. The rooms are very small but I understand this is the norm in Paris. The shower was very odd, no curtain or door, but you do get used to it after a few... More

Staying in Saint-Germain-des-Pres

Neighborhood Profile
Saint-Germain-des-Pres
In Saint-Germain-des-Prés, life is effortlessly chic and all things are beautiful. The main boulevard is dotted with famed terraced cafés, haut-couture shops, ivy-covered railings and fine-dining restaurants. Antique dealers and art galleries surround the fine art school and small museums hide in unassuming squares. The neighborhood’s namesake church is the oldest in Paris and is the backdrop for talented musicians every weekend. The Luxembourg Gardens house the national senate, splendid lawns and flourishing flower beds. Famous faces and bourgeois Parisians frequent Saint Germain accompanied by the students of Rue Saint Guillaume and Rue des Saints-Pères. This is a neighborhood where afternoon people-watching from a café or playing cards in a brasserie are a key part of the daily fabric.
