We were looking for somewhere relaxed to stay for a mother daughter trip to Paris. The Latin quarter is such a nice location - easy to get to and sightsee from. The hotel didn't disappoint. Though a bit tired and shabby in places, the service was impeccable and we had a room upgrade without asking! Best bit was coming home... More

Spend several nights here in February. Front desk staff was always courteous, but more business-like than talkative. Was upgraded to a deluxe room upon check in. Though this is their top category, the room was pretty small. There was a closet to hang clothes, a desk and chair, and a 26" flatscreen tv mounted on the wall with a large... More

Very nice and romantic hotel in the middle of the 6th arrosement. The rooms are very clean and the service excellent . Additionally you are where the action is: great cafe, restaurant and art galleries surrendering the hotel.

I was so excited when I found this hotel. It was reasonable, the rooms looked nice, it got great reviews on Trip Advisor, and it had a fireplace! I had images of spending cozy late afternoons with a glass of wine in front of the fire, relaxing before dinner. We spent 8 nights at Le Close Medicis in March 2015,... More

The hotel was lovely. Very clean and had a lovely atmosphere for a small place. Requested a garden room which was nice and quiet. Staff were really nice. In a great location near Notre Dame and beside Luxembourg gardens. Would definitely stay again.

I stayed at Le Clos Medicis for three nights in November 2014. I primarily chose it because the location is excellent. It's very close the RER B line, which goes directly to the airports, and is only a short walk away from major sights like Notre Dame and the Luxembourg Gardens. The 6th arr. in general is a very nice... More

After searching for and researching for many months, we decided on the Clos Medicis and I am so glad that we did. The hotel location is perfect- direct to hotel on the RER B, lots of tube stations nearby so very easy for us first timers to travel all across the city. On arrival, the staff spoke perfect English and... More

Booked this for a nice weekend away with my partner - booked one of the nicer rooms - turned up the room was run down freezing and faced onto the busy street with single glazed windows - hugely disappointing! We had problems paying because they had also already taken half the money from my account! Would never go back -... More

We like the Luxembourg location as a quiet yet central venue close to great restaurants and convenient transportation (RER/Bus). Rooms are average sized for Paris, very comfortable with pleasant views street side. Hotel staff lived up to their great reviews by other travelers. Breakfast was also plentiful and varied...too cold to sit outside in the garden. Should you stay here,... More

We spent a week there after Christmas in a lovely, well kept and well lit hotel room. The hotel lobby was a cosy affair with its own log fire lit almost every night! We enjoyed a few bottles of fizz on evenings there after a hard day's walking! All reception & housekeeping staff were extremely friendly, helpful and hospitable. We... More

Staying in Saint-Germain-des-Pres

Neighborhood Profile
Saint-Germain-des-Pres
In Saint-Germain-des-Prés, life is effortlessly chic and all things are beautiful. The main boulevard is dotted with famed terraced cafés, haut-couture shops, ivy-covered railings and fine-dining restaurants. Antique dealers and art galleries surround the fine art school and small museums hide in unassuming squares. The neighborhood’s namesake church is the oldest in Paris and is the backdrop for talented musicians every weekend. The Luxembourg Gardens house the national senate, splendid lawns and flourishing flower beds. Famous faces and bourgeois Parisians frequent Saint Germain accompanied by the students of Rue Saint Guillaume and Rue des Saints-Pères. This is a neighborhood where afternoon people-watching from a café or playing cards in a brasserie are a key part of the daily fabric.
