The hotel is in Pigalle and very close to Montmatre and the Sacre Coeur. About a 10 minute walk from Gare du Nord Breakfast was basic, but a good choice and quality. The room was on a par with a Travelodge in the UK, not sure how 4 stars were achieved. The restaurant is fascinating, very Art Deco and ornate.... More

First time in Paris , i would say that location is very good , some 300 metars from Moulin Rouge. Also from here very close is famous Church with very good view ( highest point in Paris) , and Montmatre where the famous painters lived. Hotel is good positioned on main street, service and food is excelent , cleaning is... More

We've just returned from a weekend in Paris staying here. We were able to walk from the Gare du Nord to the hotel very easily. We also then walked everywhere from that point, if you are willing and able you can see a lot of Paris! We walked to the Eiffel Tower, explored and walked back. There are lots of... More

Stayed for 3 night break here in November. Hotel quite difficult to find but actually very close to Pigalle Metro. Breakfast plentiful but NO gluten free and even after asking no gluten free bread was supplied. I think this is poor for 4 star. The room was very dated but clean and nice cotton white sheets. Very clean no plug... More

Just back from Paris. I went with the Mrs for a bit of shopping and the France v Australia rugby on Saturday night. Hotel location is excellent. We walked from Gare du Nord when we arrived on Friday night. 15 / 20 mins max. Pigalle/Montmatre is a very buzzy area which lots of fabulous bars and restaurants and they are... More

At the end of October we spend five days in Paris and we have chosen the Carlton's in Montmartre based on the reviews on Tripadvisor. The hotel is close to Gare du Nord, which is an easy connection to the airport, in the heart of Montmartre and situated between Pigalle and Anvers subway stations it was very easy to travel... More

I have stayed at this hotel quite a few times and the location is amazing. It is worth it if you want just a place to stay in Monmartre. It is close to the metro and Sacre Coeur. But the most alluring aspect of this hotel is the roof terrace, it offers the most gorgeous views of the whole city,... More

Wonderful location, great views from the roof terrace, friendly service. What else could we ask for in Paris. Very good value hotel and located in a perfect position. Near to metro stations (15 minutes from the heart of Paris), easy access from Gare du Nord. Hotel room was more than adequate for us. Located 10 minutes walk from the Moulin... More

Staying in Opera / Bourse

Neighborhood Profile
Opera / Bourse
The neighborhood around Opéra and Bourse is a belle époque paradise of grand boulevards, refined arcades, and mass-market art-nouveau entertainment. Here, modern day workers continue to take advantage of the legacy that nobility and finance left in the 19th century. Brightly-lit brasseries, theaters, and cinemas sit side by side with French bistros predominating in one area and Japanese restaurants in another. The area is most famous for the Palais Garnier opera house and glamorous department stores.
