The hotel is very quaint and pretty. Our room was adorable with flowered curtains and pretty bed spread. Bathroom was fabulous--great water pressure. Everything was clean except some mold on grout in bathroom. Only negatives are that the room was very small--too small to fit two suitcases on the floor and no other place to put them. Suitcase stand was... More

usually, I am a five star hotel person...but, not in Paris..this is a small gem (YES, SMALL, AND ROOMS ARE SMALL) in a great location steps away from jardin de Luxembourg.. the staff is great, helpful...and the fact that they answer me and speak to me in French unless I ask for translation, gives an idea of how friendly they... So true this was our one and only stay in Paris but I believe we got very lucky with having chosen to stay here at the end of November. Breakfast was included with our room which pushed it over the top for us in that it was both delicious and included an option of having it delivered to our room... More

We've been to about 30 hotels in Paris over the last ten years, and this place ranks in the bottom third. Why? Two-star amenities with four-star prices. Mind you, there are some very nice two-star hotels in Paris; but they charge half the prices we paid here. The location is great: right next door to the Theatre de l'Odeon and... More

This hotel catch my and my husband´s attention for its coziness and we decided to try it. True, it is cozy. It is decorated in a Provençal style (which in general is a bit over, but that is yet a bit more). The hotel is in need for improvements. It´s even difficult to understand this hotel being rated as 4... More

As a frequent traveller to Paris (6th district), I had been staying nearby in a hotel recently refurbished and up-priced, so decided to go back to the Relais Medicis. A delightful re-discovery: it has also been upgraded to 4-stars, is a good value for Paris, and features a nice new lobby. 3 of us took a small suite. The hotel... More

We stayed here for two nights in August 2014 and loved it! The hotel rooms are not huge, but make up for it in charm! We had a queen bed, a table and chairs and kid cot-with room to spare. Our room overlooked the courtyard and was decorated in what I would call a French countryside style. Reception knows who... More

This was my second trip to Paris and I chose this hotel because it is just around the corner from the Luxembourg Gardens and a pleasant walk from the Seine, Notre Dame and other favorite places. It's a lovely, old fashioned, quiet hotel. The weather wasn't great while I was there but even in the rain, Paris is beautiful. There... More

I stayed here this week, for about the fifth time. It is just such a perfect place. Charming, quiet, even with a room at the front (which I prefer to the courtyard rooms - pigeons are noisier than the street, which is not that bad at all), in an excellent location and with extremely helpful staff. It is a gem.... More

What a great little hotel - utterly charming. The rooms are small but very cozy and you feel very at home here. We loved the decorating - nice fabrics and artwork. The only thing keeping me from giving this hotel the highest rating is the shower. I realize that showers are different in Europe but all the other hotels had... More

Staying in Saint-Germain-des-Pres

Neighborhood Profile
Saint-Germain-des-Pres
In Saint-Germain-des-Prés, life is effortlessly chic and all things are beautiful. The main boulevard is dotted with famed terraced cafés, haut-couture shops, ivy-covered railings and fine-dining restaurants. Antique dealers and art galleries surround the fine art school and small museums hide in unassuming squares. The neighborhood’s namesake church is the oldest in Paris and is the backdrop for talented musicians every weekend. The Luxembourg Gardens house the national senate, splendid lawns and flourishing flower beds. Famous faces and bourgeois Parisians frequent Saint Germain accompanied by the students of Rue Saint Guillaume and Rue des Saints-Pères. This is a neighborhood where afternoon people-watching from a café or playing cards in a brasserie are a key part of the daily fabric.
