I have stayed at both BVJ Opera and BVJ Louvre extensively and a little at BVJ Champs Elysses in 2013, 2014, and 2015 on my travels in France. All three locations are in typical Parisian/French neighborhoods with excellent Bistros and cafés and are within walking distance of historic sights. What I really liked was the buildings have a certain character... More

Good prices, calme neighbourhood central in Paris, what more can you wish for? You may wish for nice and polite employees, people who help you to organize your stay, and answers questions before arrival, good breakfast. This hostel has it all. Absolutely recommendable!

Very well located (walking distances to subway, coffee places), the rooms are basic but it's a good quality price ratio. The atmosphere is quiet there (the common area are not designed in a way you get very social) but if you stay in dormitory, you get to meet nice people. Incl. breakast. Although very early, it is quite good for... More

The location was amazing and the building was historical and beautiful. The room was big and clean but the washrooms/showers weren't great --small and could definitely use an update. The most annoying part would probably be paying for WIFI in an age where everywhere has free WIFI; but realistically no one comes to Paris to sit in their hostel on... More

Near a metro stop; breakfast was good. Reasonably priced considering its walking distance to popular attractions like Sacre Cœur and Moulin Rouge. The water in the shower was a bit weak, but enough to get you washed. The lady who checked me in was friendly.

I stayed here during half term break in October and it was well worth the cost. The rooms were tidy and the staff or at least the ones I've talked to were excellent. Staff upgraded my room from 10 person to 4 person dorm when I arrived to the hostel looking raggedly tired free of charge. Every morning I'd have... More

Stayed here with a group of students from my school and the dorms were absolutely disgusting. We had 11 of us in one room and ALL of our blankets were covered in hair. One girl found a bug in her towel after letting it hang to dry overnight. The showers and bathrooms were not cleaned at all throughout the weekend... More

I stayed here a couple of weeks ago and i love it, i would definitely go again. The best thing for me was the location, really close to the subway and downtown. Rooms were really clean, only two showers clean. Really nice staff and a good breakfast.

Staying in Opera / Bourse

Neighborhood Profile
Opera / Bourse
The neighborhood around Opéra and Bourse is a belle époque paradise of grand boulevards, refined arcades, and mass-market art-nouveau entertainment. Here, modern day workers continue to take advantage of the legacy that nobility and finance left in the 19th century. Brightly-lit brasseries, theaters, and cinemas sit side by side with French bistros predominating in one area and Japanese restaurants in another. The area is most famous for the Palais Garnier opera house and glamorous department stores.
