A small non-chain hotel, very reasonably priced by Paris standards. Clean, quiet, very well located just round the corner from the Place de Clichy metro station and with friendly staff. Some French a distinct advantage. No lift and for anyone who has trouble with stairs the spiral staircase could prove a problem - especially with a suitcase. Personally I found... More

We arrived in Paris on Friday 10th April 2015 as i was running the Marathon. We had booked a hotel to find when we arrived it was double booked. We found this hotel at around 2300 hrs that night to find the staff were very warming and welcoming, the price was excellent, and the room we had was first class.... More

The hotel is located in Montmartre area which has plenty to offer. With cafes and shops within walking distance, you don't have to use a lot of the metro for your travel. The hotel is located only about a few minutes walk to the nearest metro station (Place de Glicy). The room is small but clean. The spiral staircase is... More

Loved it, rooms are small but not too much, location is awesome: only 5-10 minutes walk to the Sacre Coeur Basilica, 5 minutes to two metro stations and there are lots of very cool places to eat and drink around the hotel. What a beautiful place. Room was cleaned every day, which i did not expect, very nice. Fresh towels... More

I was visiting Paris with friends for a week-end. The location of the hotel between Montmartre/Clichy is just great. The neighbourhood is just great to go out at night. Lots of restaurants, bars, theatres, etc. Anyhow, the hotel is quiet, and service for a two-star hotel is just perfect. Rooms are not so big but clean, comfortable and silent.Let's go

I liked the location of this hotel. Just a couple minutes walk from great restaurants and cafes and the metro station. The Moulin Rouge is also just right up the street. I liked this area of Paris, nice and quiet at night and gorgeous views from the top of the Montmarte steps! The hotel is small but cozy. No elevator... More

We visited Paris, France in June 2013 and stayed in this Hotel for a week. I guess with a limited budget, it's impossible to have a hotel with all the things fabulous. Decide what criteria are non-negotiable for you and which are those you can leave a few days without. With your standards trimmed down to what is important, its... More

We picked this hotel in booking.com (specifically mentioning that we needed an adapted room) - Hippodrome was the only 2-star hotel in Montmartre that claimed to have adapted room (iaccording to booking.com and in their home page). When we arrived, our room was supposed to be on 2nd floor (no elevator at the hotel and the staircase is very narrow).... More

Even though we had two small problems (bathroom door wouldn't stay shut and the only free electrical outlet wasn't well attached to the wall), this is a great hotel and a great value. It was very clean and on the larger side for a cheap Paris hotel. The location is unbeatable (two blocks from the Moulin Rouge, Sacre Coeur, and... More

Typical Parisian mid-range hotel. Friendly service, tiny room with even tinier bathroom. Close to two metro stations and walking distance to many attractions. Very close to Place de Clichy (strip clubs etc) & the Moulin Rouge. Award winning baguettes 2 mins away at Coquelicot.

Staying in Montmartre

Neighborhood Profile
Montmartre
Montmartre is a bustling mix of cultures, colors, and styles which changes from one street to another. Ride the funicular (or, for a real workout, climb the steps) to the sublime Sacré-Coeur (Basilica of the Sacred Heart) with its inspiring view of the city. The church is surrounded by provincial streets and piano bars where tourists, artists, and street entertainers thrive. At the foot of the hill, Boulevard de Clichy features shops not intended for young audiences, while residences are scattered to the north and east. The diverse population includes a large part from the Arab-speaking world, Africa, and Turkey. It’s a corner of Paris full of life and dynamism with charms that can’t be found anywhere else.
