I don't have a lot to compare this to as it was my first trip to Paris. It was a solo trip as my wife was travelling for business so I was looking for a decent location, close to the RER trains and the Metro. This place really filled the bill. I arrived early in the morning after an overnight... More

I have had only good experiences at this hotel! The helpful, friendly staff, the location, and the hotel in general all meet my requirements and aesthetic sensibilities. When I'm in my pleasant, clean room with updated bathrooms, with the tall, long windows open, I feel like I am actually living in Paris. Yes, the rooms are small, but it is... More

We stayed here for a week during late October. The hotel is modest, but very clean and we did not find the staff rude (I noticed this was an issue in other reviews). The bed was very comfortable, and our balcony window opened up to let the autumn breeze, and wafting scent from the corner boulangerie, keep our room fresh... More

I have stayed at this hotel a number of times on business and have always had a good experience. The pluses for the hotel are its location one block from the Luxembourg Gardens, being on a quiet street away from the tourist hordes, helpful staff most of whom speak excellent English and are free of the snotty attitude still present... Location is excellent however the rooms are tiny and not as advertised. The staff are miserable mostly and not interested in you or your personal experience in Paris. When I asked if I could get an extra pillow for me and my mum (because ours were flat as a crepe and really uncomfortable !!!) we were faced with a simple... More

I stayed here with a friend for 3 nights in September. The hotel was lovely, very 'french' décor and we found it to be very quiet. Very good air con system in the room which was easy to use. Nice comfy bed. Good enough sized, clean bathroom and the shower was very good. Included a hairdryer and some soap/ bodywash.... More

I chose this hotel primarily for its location, near the Luxembourg Gardens, Place St Sulpice and Montparnasse. I was pleased with my room, which had windows in two walls, making it light and airy. It always felt good to come back to.

Stayed 3 nights in June. We liked the area which was more of a residential area and quiet at night. We loved Bread and Roses cafe/boulangerie across the street. There was also an Argentinian restaurant within walking distance were we would get delicious beef empanadas. Two minutes from Luxembourg gardens! We had a car rental. Hotel does not have a... More

We recently stayed 5 nights at the Perreyve. We stayed here 28 years ago on our honeymoon and have been back to Paris multiple times since then but have always stayed elsewhere. This trip I decided to try the Perreyve again to see how it compared to our memories. We were not disappointed. The hotel has undergone a freshening and... More

Great little hotel: between Luxembourg garden and Rennes street, this hotel offers romance, shopping and great connections to any Part of the city: there are several metro stations close by. Breakfast is not worthwhile mentioning: pastry, marmelade and cheese. This is, of course, no problem, there are plenty of cute boulangeries and patisseries in Rennes street (near by). Hotel offers... Staying in Saint-Germain-des-Pres

Neighborhood Profile
Saint-Germain-des-Pres
In Saint-Germain-des-Prés, life is effortlessly chic and all things are beautiful. The main boulevard is dotted with famed terraced cafés, haut-couture shops, ivy-covered railings and fine-dining restaurants. Antique dealers and art galleries surround the fine art school and small museums hide in unassuming squares. The neighborhood’s namesake church is the oldest in Paris and is the backdrop for talented musicians every weekend. The Luxembourg Gardens house the national senate, splendid lawns and flourishing flower beds. Famous faces and bourgeois Parisians frequent Saint Germain accompanied by the students of Rue Saint Guillaume and Rue des Saints-Pères. This is a neighborhood where afternoon people-watching from a café or playing cards in a brasserie are a key part of the daily fabric.
