Well located, very good small hotel close to public transit and the Marais area. Front desk extremely helpful and rooms clean. Only issue encountered was hot water takes a long time to come (several minutes in the morning). Recommend highly as is wonderful value for money for Paris.

This hotel doesn't look like much from the outside but it's a winner. Located 5 minute walk from Bastille where you can get the metro to pretty much anywhere in paris. The rooms are nicely decorated and bigger than expected. I have stayed in more expensive rooms that where half the size. I would definitely stay there again.

This hotel proved an excellent choice for a short break. Well situated, just yards from a Metro station and only a few minutes walk from Bastille, it was beautifully clean throughout, the staff were lovely and friendly. Breakfasts were very good, with a choice of cereals, breads, pastries and fruit; scrambled and boiled eggs were offered, together with a selection... More

Best Western sits in Marais / Bastille, about 40 minutes walk from La Seine, very close to 2 big metro stations, very close to big arches, 40 minutes walk from le Rambuteau and another walk from the canal. So quite centrally located. That area itself can get a bit scary in the night but it gets better as we get... More

Great hotel on Blvd Richard Lenoir. 15 minute tube journey from Gare du Nord. Hotel is 2 minutes walk from the tube. 5 minutes walk from Bastille monument and about 20 minutes on foot to Bars and shops in the heart of the Marais at hotel de ville. Large rooms by Paris standards. Very clean and well fitted out. Friendly... More

We stayed here two years ago and enjoyed it so booked again for our Silver wedding anniversary. Helpful staff, lovely rooms and within walking distance of most tourist attractions. There is a market every Thursday across the road. Take ear plugs if you sleep with your windows open as the French motorists like to use their car horns and the... More

I was staying here with my families during our short trip to Paris. We booked three rooms for two night, and the hotel give us upgrade for one bigger room located at the 5th floor. Minimalist and neat interior, modern and chic. Good amenities are provided, clean bathroom. Most of the staff are english speaking and friendly to give us... More

This hotel was perfectly adequate and staff were efficient and friendly(setting up an extra table for our breakfast in the sitting room area when they were full) but overall the general feeling of the hotel was lacking. It is modern in style and maybe thats where the problem lies - our room was bright orange and quite clinical in style... More

We (me, 62 and my wife, looks 27ish) really enjoyed our short stay here. The hotel is in a good position for access to central Paris either on foot or by Metro (there are two local stations and Bastille is only a few minutes walk away). The hotel is small and chic and immaculately maintained. The staff are very friendly... More

The Hotel Marais Bastille from the Best Western chain is very good with a good location, near Bastille and metro. The rooms are small but very confortable, I don't know how it is if you go with children. The air conditioning didn't worked one day but we just had to ask in the reception to switch on. It is located... More

Staying in Bastille / Oberkampf

Neighborhood Profile
Bastille / Oberkampf
Bastille and Oberkampf are lively parts of town made for entertainment. During the day rows of unassuming bars welcome customers for a bite or a drink, but it’s at night this area really comes to life. Students and young professionals fill the busy bars around Bastille and Oberkampf. At Place de la Bastille, crowds flock to the Opéra Bastille in the evening and groups wait for coveted tickets during the day. Towards Republique, skateboarders practice their tricks while others chill out at the square. If you’re looking for late-night revelry, this is your neighborhood.
