Terribly disappointing experience staying for 2 nights recently. I will not return. The hotel smells damp and musty. There is a strong mildew smell that they try to cover up with strong air freshened outside the elevator. Doesn't work and actually makes it worse. The heating and cooling in the room was horrible, the wifi had a weak signal, and... More

I wanted to organise a surprise birthday treat for my wife so I booked this hotel for 3 nights. The team at Hotel Pont Royal was very friendly and already during the booking they have helped to pick a very special room located on the top floor - Deluxe room with view. I think all "Deluxe rooms with view" located... More

Warm, friendly staff. I called the concierge before my arrival and he had Louvre tickets waiting for me.We had a junior suite which was lovely. Very clean and elegant. I would definitely return. Location is phenomenal with small interesting boutiques and wonderful bistrots.

Location, cleanliness, friendliness, everything was excellent! It is close to metro, there is a grocery store in front of the hotel. We only did not like that there was no shower curtain in the bathroom, but it was immediately installed after we asked for it. A heater in the bathroom was very useful. Also, since it was our honeymoon, they... More

I was visiting Paris for a few days with my mom and aunt as a graduation gift. The staff was so welcoming and accommodating that we instantly knew this would be a great place to stay. We stayed here on the highest floor (I have forgotten the room number), but it was magnificent. Our view looked out onto the street... More

This lovely hotel was clean, comfortable and well situated for seeing all the major sights of Paris, as well as shopping. The staff were friendly and accommodating. The hotel restaurant is very expensive, but there are hundreds of very good restaurants withing a very short walk, as well as a market across the street. The rooms were small, but there... More

Went for a surprise 50 birthday treat for one night. Rose petals on bed and complimentary champagne were a nice touch. Hotel felt luxurious, great location as other reviewers have said but especially since Joel Robuchon's restaurant L'Atelier is right next door!

My wife and I enjoyed our stay here very much. The hotel is centrally located, just off the Rue de Bac, and within walking distance to the Louvre, the Tuileries, The Musee d'Orsay, and Boulevard St. Germain. They serve a good and varied breakfast, have a nice, small bar, as well as a small fitness room (just in case you're... More

We stayed a week at this hotel in the fall of 2014. Very nice smaller rooms, neat and clean. Awesome location near the Louve and Orsay museums. 1 mile to the eiffel tower. Very good breakfast, nice dining room. The staff were all very polite and courteous. All spoke some english. Overall a very good stay. I would stay here... More

Although the clasic room is small this is a lovely hotel and well-maintained. The rooms are very clean with large windows that can be opened and a modern bathroom. The hotel is extremely quiet and the windows block all the sounds from the street. It is also conveniently located close to shopping and the museums.

Staying in Saint-Germain-des-Pres

Neighborhood Profile
In Saint-Germain-des-Prés, life is effortlessly chic and all things are beautiful. The main boulevard is dotted with famed terraced cafés, haut-couture shops, ivy-covered railings and fine-dining restaurants. Antique dealers and art galleries surround the fine art school and small museums hide in unassuming squares. The neighborhood’s namesake church is the oldest in Paris and is the backdrop for talented musicians every weekend. The Luxembourg Gardens house the national senate, splendid lawns and flourishing flower beds. Famous faces and bourgeois Parisians frequent Saint Germain accompanied by the students of Rue Saint Guillaume and Rue des Saints-Pères. This is a neighborhood where afternoon people-watching from a café or playing cards in a brasserie are a key part of the daily fabric.
