We chose Hotel Pont Royal because we wanted to stay in a boutique hotel close to the center of things. It was a great choice. We arrived early morning from overseas flight and we camped on some chairs until our room was ready. This is always the hardest part when traveling from the states. The hotel is on a side... More

From the time we arrived at the Pont Royal Hotel we were treated as VIP's. We had a fantastic room with a view over the city for our nine day stay. The room was clean fresh and well appointed. The location on the Left bank is quieter than across the river but this hotel is close to the main art galleries... More

A very nice, freshly refurbished hotel with excellent and friendly service. The location is quiet and ideal in every regard for visiting central Paris. The rooms are a nice size and decorated very tastefully. We travel a lot and usually stay at relatively high-end boutique hotels. This hotel is at the top of our list for good-value elegance -- and... More

I unconditionally recommend the Hotel Pont Royal. I mentioned we were coming to Paris to celebrate our 25th anniversary when I reserved a Deluxe room with a view. We arrived three hours before check-in after a difficult flight, the staff had our room ready for check-in in less than one hour and provided complimentary champagne cocktails while we waited. Our... This was our first time in Paris, and we were lucky enough to land at the Hotel Pont Royal (recommendation from our travel agent). The hotel is 3 blocks from the Seine, and right across the Seine from the Louvre. it is about a half mile from the Musee d'Orsay, and the tourist buses. And it is in the heart... More

We recently enjoyed our second stay at this lovely hotel in an equally lovely neighborhood. The staff are courteous, friendly, and very helpful. We enjoyed a room with a small balcony and a lovely view of Paris. The room was very well appointed and the bed was comfortable. When the shades were drawn, the room was perfectly dark. The bathroom,... More

My boyfriend and myself booked a long weekend away to this hotel last year around March time. It is undoubtedly the most beautiful hotel I've ever stayed in! The area of Paris is picturesque; our superior double room looked out to the Eiffel Tower! The staff are attentive, helpful and speak good English too, which is always a bonus. The... More

Stayed here twice with my family (wife and 2 young children). The staff were very welcoming and accommodating to our requests. Happy to organise transport. Beds comfortable, rooms great with view of Eiffel Tower. Highly recommended!

We stayed four nights at the Pont Royal in a deluxe room with a balcony view. Although the balcony was quite small and only intended for standing, the views of Paris were exquisite. We found the room cozy, very small, yet well appointed. We also thought the bath was spacious and modern. Nevertheless, the room seemed a little overpriced given... More

Staying in Saint-Germain-des-Pres

Neighborhood Profile
Saint-Germain-des-Pres
In Saint-Germain-des-Prés, life is effortlessly chic and all things are beautiful. The main boulevard is dotted with famed terraced cafés, haut-couture shops, ivy-covered railings and fine-dining restaurants. Antique dealers and art galleries surround the fine art school and small museums hide in unassuming squares. The neighborhood’s namesake church is the oldest in Paris and is the backdrop for talented musicians every weekend. The Luxembourg Gardens house the national senate, splendid lawns and flourishing flower beds. Famous faces and bourgeois Parisians frequent Saint Germain accompanied by the students of Rue Saint Guillaume and Rue des Saints-Pères. This is a neighborhood where afternoon people-watching from a café or playing cards in a brasserie are a key part of the daily fabric.
