4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 20, 2006

My wife and I stayed here for four nights and enjoyed our stay. We enjoyed our stay and the staff was very kind and helpful. The hotel is located in a great spot. We walked everywhere, except for taking the metro to the Sacre Coeur. The Shopi, grocery store, located a couple buildings down was great for getting bottled water.... More

My wife and I stayed here in late May and enjoyed this very lovely hotel near the Eiffel Tower. We stayed in Room 42 on the top floor. Although the room was typically small, it had all the amenities, including a sparkling bathroom with a shower, immaculately clean. The view was of a sometimes busy street which provided a small... I booked the Etoile Trocadero for my wifes birthday to coincide with a concert. The hotel was ideally situated for all the attractions for both foot and metro. The rooms were very clean, the service excellent and the staff took time to make you feel welcome, offered advice on travel and improved my very poor French! An ideal location for... More

First I will say that TripAdvisor is the best tool for planning your vacation. I used it for all of our accommodations in Germany, Salzburg, Paris and London and was ultimately very pleased with all. The Hotel Etoile Trocadero, we thought, was great. We were there for three nights with our teenagers, who had a separate room. We stayed in... More

My wife and I booked our travel to France through Virgin Atlantic Vacations. This was our first trip to France and we expected to stay 6 nights in Paris with another six in Amboise (Loire Valley of France). I the travel package offerred by Virgin we had a choice of hotels based upon how much we wished to spend. I... More

My first instinct was dissapointment when we arrived. The exterior could use new awnings and brightening up. The room was very tiny, reminded us of what you'd get in NY for the same money. However, upon further exploration, the bathroom and shower were brand new and spotless and amenities such as mini bar, hair dryer, newer tv etc were included.... More

This place was not terrible. The people were nice and the location was great. They told use breakfast will be served every morning and showed us where, leading us to believe it was included. When we checked out they had charged us 22 Euro each day for some bread and coffee. I will not be back, not because of that... More

Having stayed in many city hotels throughout Europe I found the Etoile Trocadero good value for money. Admitedly the rooms were rather small, but were spotlessly clean and had everything you need. Our bathroom had a bath as well as a shower and towels were changed every day. The breakfast was ideal and set you up for a busy day... More

I stayed the first week in May, it was my second time here in three years. I absolutely love this place. The owners are always on site to help, all the employees are very kind and helpful. Location is about two blocks from the effiel tower and about four from the Arc d'triumph. three subway stops within walking distance. rooms... More

I would not stay here again. Let me elaborate. 1. Thin walls. The phone rang in the room next door and I mistakenly picked up the receiver. If someone is in the hall late at night, you here every word. It will even wake you up... not to mention the bathroom noises or the amorous patron in the floor above.... More

Staying in Trocadero

Neighborhood Profile
Trocadero
This is the neighborhood of grand and impressive Haussmann-designed apartments and buildings. National museums overlook the Eiffel Tower and embassies fill the avenues and streets. Locals head to the butcher, florist, or bakery on their daily rounds amidst luxury and splendor, all with a view over Paris and its most famous tower. Snuggled in between the grand buildings are small art galleries and homes of historical significance. With a rich legacy from 19th century politics, art, and architecture, you can’t help but be reminded of the belle époque, the Universal Exhibitions and the nobility that have frequented and shaped these streets.
