Tough to find room for a family of four in Paris... so we had to get two adjoining room so it made our stay quite expensive. There's little market and a ATM across the street from the hotel. The hotel is walking distance to many locations and not far from the River Seine.

I have been to Paris 5 or 6 times (lost count) and I reserved a room at the Fontaines after my first choice hotel was booked. I must have reviewed 25 hotels on TripAdvisor and based solely on the reviews and my own knowledge of the location, I decided to book a room for 5 nights. The hotel is a... More

A hidden jewel !! Terrific, central location to explore one of the most charming areas of Paris - hidden away in a quiet street Newly renovated, very appealing interior design (from our perspective) - check out the pics. Each room is different - see design comment Rooms are sizable for Paris standards (incl. bathrooms) Air conditioning in each room (yes,... More

This hotel was a pleasant surprise. We have stayed in several hotels in Europe and this is one of our favorites. The staff was friendly and helpful. The decor was contemporary and beautiful. Our room was perfect: neat, comfortable, and large for european standards. We did not experience anything negative during our stay. We especially loved the central location. It... More

Pros: Decor, cleaness. Cons: Lack of hot water, broken elevator, really poor breakfast. Not that close to a Metro. I looked forward to my stay at the hotel for months, and I left so disappointed.

We were very impressed with all aspects of the hotel. Our room (the one that is the main photo on the website - a double superior) was roomy, with a large bath and lovely interior decoration. The location is perfect - walking distance to Notre Dame, Musee D'Orsay (15 min walk) and the lovely St Germain area. We spent most... More

Positive - Staff very helpful, with quite good English; Large room for Paris, though we had a triple for 2 people; Lovely bathroom; Interesting decor; Excellent location - we felt very safe; On a fairly quiet street, so traffic noise not bad for Paris; Gardens a block away; Good cafes and an epicerie(general store) close by. Negative - Did not... More

Fab location - right next to the Jardin du Luxembourg, and close to several good cafes and restaurants (Le Comptoir was excellent, down the hill in Opera, and the La Ferrandaise next to the hotel was good too). In the heart of St Germain - which means walking distance to great shopping - fashion, books, antiques; the islands, up to... More

We stayed four nights in the hotel Fontaines du Luxembourg. The whole staff in the hotel was very polite and helpfull. The room was modern, clean and big enough for the three of us. The bathroom was very nice, big and comfortable. The hotel has been renovated one year ago and therefor everything looks very new and stylish. The location... More

Staying in Saint-Germain-des-Pres

Neighborhood Profile
Saint-Germain-des-Pres
In Saint-Germain-des-Prés, life is effortlessly chic and all things are beautiful. The main boulevard is dotted with famed terraced cafés, haut-couture shops, ivy-covered railings and fine-dining restaurants. Antique dealers and art galleries surround the fine art school and small museums hide in unassuming squares. The neighborhood’s namesake church is the oldest in Paris and is the backdrop for talented musicians every weekend. The Luxembourg Gardens house the national senate, splendid lawns and flourishing flower beds. Famous faces and bourgeois Parisians frequent Saint Germain accompanied by the students of Rue Saint Guillaume and Rue des Saints-Pères. This is a neighborhood where afternoon people-watching from a café or playing cards in a brasserie are a key part of the daily fabric.
