The location of this boutique hotel is ideal for anyone who enjoys the left bank. Easy walking distance to Luxembourg Gardens, the Latin Quarter, and the RER B line (and not a bad walk down to the Seine either!). Our superior double room was perfect for the two of us, and we would definitely stay here again.

I stayed at the Fontaines de Luxembourg for five nights with a friend while visiting Paris this January. The hotel's location is excellent, with a lot of restaurants nearby, a grocery store and pharmacy right across the street, and good public transport access. It is located on a narrow street, so it isn't often convenient when calling a taxi. The... More

What a delight and surprise this quaint hotel was. Very cosy Foyer/Lounge encouraged conversation with staff and fellow guests. The old fashioned lift to our room was a highlight for our grandson. Rooms and bathroom were typical french and splendid. Three nights was not long enough in lovely old building. Will be back.

I've stayed in this hotel twice recently and both stays have been wonderful. It is great value for money and feels classy and tasteful. The staff are very well mannered and friendly and it has a relaxed and peaceful atmosphere. Beds are firm and lovely fresh white linen. I love the design of the rooms which are sophisticated and French... More

We stayed as 3 couples in this small , cosy and comfortable hotel and enjoyed a lot. Rooms are clean , comfortable and ergonomically designed. Staff is helpful and kind. Hotel is located very close to Boulevard St. Germain and Luxembourg Gardens where you will enjoy ''less touristic atmosphere'' but can reach to any sightseeing in maximum 15 min walking.... More

Stayed here in August 2015 and thoroughly enjoyed it. Room size for two of us was perfect, bed was huge! The decor and theme of the rooms is interesting and cleanliness was immaculate. Shower was very spacious. Yes, there was the odd small wall crack but this is a building that contains original wooden beams, so that's part of the... More

Dear Philtaz, We are very glad that you enjoyed your stay at Les Fontaines du Luxembourg. After an expected architectural face-lift planned for the beginning of 2016, wall cracks inconvenient should be solved. We wish we see you again very soon, Sincerely, More

We had 2 adjoining rooms on top floor, perfect for parents and teenagers. Rooms stylishly decorated, smallish but as expected for Paris. Rainfall showers in modern bathrooms. Good quality buffet breakfast in basement cellar. Friendly staff who went out of their way to recommend me a market! Good location, off beaten tourist track. less than 5 minutes walk from Jardin... First off, it's a great location near the Sorbonne and Luxembourg gardens. The building is several centuries old, and has a nice character. The rooms are small, but not horribly so for Paris. The staff is very friendly and courteous. The room is still the old fashioned key that you must leave at the front desk when you go out.... More

Dear Erik, Thank you for taking time in sharing your feelings with Tripadvisor readers. Yes we still use "old fashioned" keys. We are are small property and we wish to maintain the relation with ours guests during their stay, it is why we love our job ! (With electronic keys, no one pass by the front desk during a stay).... This was our third hotel while staying in Paris and also the best one! You cant say enough good things about the staff. Room was a bit noicy since it was a part of two adjacent connected rooms, door between these rooms should be soundproofed. Next time in Paris we will stay longer than 2 days in this hotel.

We stayed here for our last 3-nights in Paris, after returning from 5-nights in Lagnes (Provence). We found this hotel to be "overly cozy". Our room was exceptionally small and there was virtually no storage for clothes available. We literally had to "live out of our suitcases". Although the staff were pleasant, the hotel clean, and the location good -... More

Staying in Saint-Germain-des-Pres

Neighborhood Profile
Saint-Germain-des-Pres
In Saint-Germain-des-Prés, life is effortlessly chic and all things are beautiful. The main boulevard is dotted with famed terraced cafés, haut-couture shops, ivy-covered railings and fine-dining restaurants. Antique dealers and art galleries surround the fine art school and small museums hide in unassuming squares. The neighborhood’s namesake church is the oldest in Paris and is the backdrop for talented musicians every weekend. The Luxembourg Gardens house the national senate, splendid lawns and flourishing flower beds. Famous faces and bourgeois Parisians frequent Saint Germain accompanied by the students of Rue Saint Guillaume and Rue des Saints-Pères. This is a neighborhood where afternoon people-watching from a café or playing cards in a brasserie are a key part of the daily fabric.
