We had a very enjoyable visit to Paris last autumn for our wedding anniversary. Hotel Fontaines du Luxembourg is in a quiet location, close to the park - dinner at Au Petit Suisse down the road was a treat. We had a double superior room on the second floor, 207, very comfortable. A fair bit of space for central Paris... More

Our family of 4 stayed in two interconnected rooms during July for 3 nights. The rooms were very nice, good modern bathrooms and we rather liked the large portraits of Paris behind the beds. Lighting could have been a little brighter for the evenings. Front desk staff very helpful and friendly. Location excellent, across the road to Luxembourg Gardens, St... More

I stayed at Les Fontaines du Luxembourg for 7 nights with my wife and two kids (3 yr and 1 yr old). We stayed in a family room which is two adjacent connected rooms. The space was more than enough for the four of us. The hotel is charming and very clean. We enjoyed staying in a hotel that had... More

Having stayed in the Luxembourg Gardens area a number of times in some nice hotels, my husband and I agree that this will be the one to which we will return! We found it by doing a broad search of the area, which we love. This hotel was new to us, but a number of recommendations on Tripadvisor convinced us... More

Little but very charming and clean room with French style. High ceiling big windows. Close to Seinen, Louvre and Notre Dame. A lot’s of restaurants around. Hotel is situated on one way street and it’s a bit difficult to come with taxi because of the parking, but it’s possible :) Very helpful stuff in breakfast restaurant with good sense of... More

Dear Olga, We are very pleased you enjoyed your stay, the property and breakfast. We do apologize for unapropriate informations, you're probably talking about a new receptionist and after reading your comment he is now running all over the area for being updated ! Thanks again, Best regards, More

I was very impressed with this hotel. It was a perfect sanctuary from the crowds, noise and heat of Paris in July. AC was fantastic: nice and cold. Wifi worked well. Location was fantastic: walking distance to Latin Quarter and Luxembourg Gardens and many restaurants. Tip: a bar fridge would have been great.

Fontaines is located close to the RER Luxembourg stop and to the Jardin du Luxembourg, in Saint-Germain-des-Pres. There are numerous restaurants closeby to suit every budget. The hotel's location is its selling point. The management's attention to detail is uneven. The rooms are poorly lit and dark; the bathrooms on the other hand were bright. The hotel offers connecting rooms.... More

Dear Madam, We thank you for taking time in sharing your experience. We duly noticed points to improve. An historical 17th century building is always moving a little bit and of course it creates a few damages and we do our best for taking care. We wish we see you again soon. Best regards More

The location and friendliness of the staff was excellent. This is a small, boudoir hotel . The rooms are small with little storage for two people, and the llighting is poor. However, with these minor corrections which I understand on forthcoming, I would stay there again. We enjoyed a full and delicious breakfast at the hotel every morning.

A very central location to the highlights of Paris and the service was very good. We also enjoyed the quaint breakfast in the nook in the lower level. The rooms--we had a two room connected suite had some issues with peeling paint, cracks in walls, etc. I was able to look pass this and enjoy the other benefits of this... More

Dear Madam, Thank you for your kind review. We are pleased you enjoyed your stay with us despite peeling paint in your room. That should be fixed soon after a total outside facelift. In fact the air-conditionning can be setted individually in each guest room, but you probably stayed during a few hot days in April before it's been activated... More

Marvelous hotel, within walking distance Notre Dame, Luxembourg gardens, many cafes, Saint Chapelle, metro, etc. Best part was a totally wheelchair accessible, especially the bathroom, which is so important.

Staying in Saint-Germain-des-Pres

Neighborhood Profile
Saint-Germain-des-Pres
In Saint-Germain-des-Prés, life is effortlessly chic and all things are beautiful. The main boulevard is dotted with famed terraced cafés, haut-couture shops, ivy-covered railings and fine-dining restaurants. Antique dealers and art galleries surround the fine art school and small museums hide in unassuming squares. The neighborhood’s namesake church is the oldest in Paris and is the backdrop for talented musicians every weekend. The Luxembourg Gardens house the national senate, splendid lawns and flourishing flower beds. Famous faces and bourgeois Parisians frequent Saint Germain accompanied by the students of Rue Saint Guillaume and Rue des Saints-Pères. This is a neighborhood where afternoon people-watching from a café or playing cards in a brasserie are a key part of the daily fabric.
