The position of this hotel is perfect for Paris, if you are like me, and don’t like to stay in the busy full on tourist part. Its near good food and several bars and brasseries, but only a 10 minute walk to the left bank, ready for a stroll to , well the rest (I like to walk al lot... More

This is the second time we have stayed at this hotel, so obviously we liked it the first time! And when next we go to Paris, we will stay there again. The only slight negative about the hotel is that the rooms are small, and somewhat oddly arranged. But that is typical of many downtown European hotels. And, in any... More

The HSSG was a good quality hotel at a fair price in an excellent location. The breakfast was good and the service was outstanding, particularly the front desk staff. Unfortunately, the upgraded double room we booked was claustrophobic, and looked out into the interior light well. The room itself had an odd smell, but it was not overwhelming. I suspect... More

This hotel is well-located - easy to get to and within walking distance of many lovely neighborhoods (including St. Germain, obviously). The rooms are very small -- my companion and I were quite surprised -- but they are comfortable and relatively quiet. Breakfast is decent, staff are friendly. This is a good choice if you want a comfortable, affordable, reliable... More

The welcome From the first email exchange to our farewell, we were made to feel really welcome. I was so astonished by seeing so many smiling happy faces among the staff that I asked the reason. "We all really like working here," was the reply. And this really impacts on the stay Room Our room was not large but we... More

Wonderful little hotel, beautiful rooms (small and bijou) and in an excellent area for exploring the sights of Paris. The staff here are brilliant, they are friendly, helpful and polite and nothing is too much trouble for them. We asked for them to arrange a taxi to take us to CDG, it turns out that it is one of their... More

Staff were warm, friendly, and helpful. Room was comfortable and clean. No drawers for clothes, but we made do with shelves. Only negative was no good place to store two big suitcases. Great location.

Although the room was not a big as the photo indicated, it was pretty much standard for European hotels. The staff was extremely polite, the room was clean and comfortable. If you are looking for luxury, look elsewhere. If you are looking of a very good hotel, a great price, near the metro, in a safe clean, quite area, this... More

We stayed at this hotel when visiting Paris for the French Open. The location is perfect, a short walk to the Sevres-Babylone Metro station. Desk staff was very cordial and friendly at all hours, our room was clean and a good size. We had a view of the street, but the room was very quiet at night, the result of... More

I already stayed several times in this hotel and always has been a great experience. It is located in a very nice area, near the metro and bus stations and the entire hotel team (Valerie, Jonhattan, Maria, Ahmed , Cecile and others) make the most to make all guests happy. The rooms are typically french (do not expect large rooms... More

Staying in Saint-Germain-des-Pres

Neighborhood Profile
Saint-Germain-des-Pres
In Saint-Germain-des-Prés, life is effortlessly chic and all things are beautiful. The main boulevard is dotted with famed terraced cafés, haut-couture shops, ivy-covered railings and fine-dining restaurants. Antique dealers and art galleries surround the fine art school and small museums hide in unassuming squares. The neighborhood’s namesake church is the oldest in Paris and is the backdrop for talented musicians every weekend. The Luxembourg Gardens house the national senate, splendid lawns and flourishing flower beds. Famous faces and bourgeois Parisians frequent Saint Germain accompanied by the students of Rue Saint Guillaume and Rue des Saints-Pères. This is a neighborhood where afternoon people-watching from a café or playing cards in a brasserie are a key part of the daily fabric.
