The room was lovely, very nicely decorated and atmospheric. It was good sized but a bit cold. There were tee/cofee making facilities and free wifi with e-mail registration. The hotel is close to the Montparnasse train station with a lot of cafes, bars and restaurants all around. Although the room and bathroom were very clean, we found a dirty towel... More

I needed to stay near the Montparnasse Train Station to pick-up a 6:30am bus to CDG Airport. This hotel is very close, clean, and inexpensive. It is also very small and with spartan amenities. If you need a clean, convenient and inexpensive place to stay one night near Gare Montparnasee, this is your place.

Stayed here for running in the marathon in April and generally a good stay. I was given a room facing the street which as several have commented is noisy. Had to sleep with windows open as the a/c didn't really work- the lowest it would go was 16c and tripped off every 5 mins. Therefore, need earplugs as it does... More

I stayed here for 2 nights in February, and the hotel was fine. It's in a great location, lots of bars and restaurants right on your doorstep. There were also metro stations extremely close too. In terms of going out, it was fantastic, however when we did want to go to bed, it was extremely loud! The walls in the... More

I chose this hotel as my friend moved to Paris in the summer and lives just round the corner. The room was clean and a very good size and the staff were friendly throughout my stay. However, when I first got to the room I decided to make a cup of tea, only to find that the kettle was leaking... More

This Hotel is indeed in a "Lively Street" in Montparnasse directly opposite a Sex Shop. Apart from the Friendly Reception Welcome it had not much else going for it. The rooms were indeed small and noisy. During my three night stay the Breakfast Room in the Basement resembled a building site with no attempt to screen off from the service.... More

We stayed 5 nights at this hotel during the whole SIAL exhibition.  My only positive feedback would be the smiling staff at the front desk :) Otherwise, this hotel needs definitely to be refreshed. The room insulation was deficient, the bathroom was uncomfortably small as well as the room. The room lacked many basic equipment like a minibar, a safety... More

Getting here: Well, it is very easy- it is around the corner from the #13 Metro, which is very convenient. Location: The street is very busy. Mostly filled with adult "toy" stores. Which I don't have a problem with, but it tends to attract a rowdier crowd that I could do without. Check-in: No issues here, the person at the... More

I liked this hotel. They have a/c (which works well), wifi that was actually fast, and it's in a great area. I loved all the cafes and shops around the hotel. It seemed like a mix of tourists and locals, which was nice. I walked around by myself at midnight with no issues. There are a couple subway stations nearby,... More

I recommend this hotel to anyone who wants to easily explore and enjoy Paris. The metro is a five minute walk away and there's many stores and eating places right outside this hotel. The neighborhood stays alive way into the night because of the cafes. There is a warm, personal feeling to this area. The hotel room was clean and... More

Staying in Montparnasse

Neighborhood Profile
Montparnasse
The namesake tower of Montparnasse dominates over the landscape but the fun part is the throbbing life that goes on below it. Bright lights, busy cinemas, brasseries and diners encompass hidden museums and parks to entertain the masses. Long avenues lead away from the tower to take you to unsuspecting places and historical monuments and treasures. In between lie adorable ivy-covered houses with beams and small gardens to match. Just a short metro ride away from the center of Paris this neighborhood has something for every hour of the day.
