Bring your own adapters for computers, phone chargers, as these are not provided in the room. Rooms are quite small for two people - no chairs provided except for a desk chair (no room for any others).

As with many Paris hotels rooms are small, but well fitted out. We found the room very clean and more than adequate for the basics ie sleeping and hot shower. Location is great for Gare Austerlitz - literally just over the road. Jardin des Plantes is also a pleasant spot to watch the world go by. It is also well... More

The hotel was a great place to base yourself for seeing Paris. Clean rooms with a brilliant hot and powerful shower, you can't go wrong if you want somewhere to crash after a day round Paris. Rooms are small but hey it's central Paris! Rooms have only basic amenities with a kettle, ask for iron and safe as they do... More

I stayed here for 2 nights with my 10 year old daughter and chose this hotel as it's in close proximity to Gare Austelitz. The location was perfect, a short walk from Notre Dame along the river. The room, although tiny, was adequate as we only used to sleep and shower in. Paris is for exploring, not to spend in... More

I stayed here for 9 days this month on a trip to Paris with my teenage daughter. We got it as a deal on travelocity and the price was really right. It did have a lot of positives. It was right across the street from a major transit hub that served the RER and metro lines as well as more... More

The name Libertel does not show on the street, only in the elevator. It stops in between the floors where the rooms are located, so you need to drag your luggage down 10 steps. The room and shower are minuscule and are designed to make the most of the space. Convenient shuttle to the airport for 18 Euros per person.... More

This was a great choice. Friendly staff (yes...the French can be quite nice!), cozy room (if you're expecting super-sized, then keep moving... this is not for you!), perfect location (Metro station within 50 feet or less), nice neighborhood & all around accessible. Word of caution: Just be careful at night (homeless, etc). We walked to & fro, we took the... More

An excellent base for your time in Paris. The location is great. You do not know that it is across the street from the Gare Austerlitz but you do know it is beside the Jardins des Plantes. Rooms are small and clean and include a kettle and coffee and tea. We reckon it was less than one Km to Notre... More

As a base to explore Paris this is somewhere I would stay again. The hotel is two minutes walk from a metro station, and there are a number of restaurants to choose from on the same road, a couple of which I tried and enjoyed. The room itself was clean, brilliant heating, the bed comfy and the shower was great. I... More

Nice enough hotel for a short stay in Paris. They speak English. Check in was simple and painless and the room was ok. Standard hotel room with all the required amenities. The only negative was my room was facing the busy main road so the noise was difficult to get used to. So ask for a room at the back... More

Staying in Quartier Latin

Neighborhood Profile
Quartier Latin
The Latin Quarter bursts with intellectual life, architectural splendor and ongoing merriment. The small streets are filled with classical buildings, student bars and lively eateries while the squares are dominated by historic monuments. The area is defined by the 800-year-old Sorbonne University, where Latin once prevailed, and is famous for the Pantheon which celebrates the great men and women of France. During the day students rush from classes to the library and intellectuals people watch from the terraced cafés. As night time falls the surrounding establishments fill up and the merriment really begins. The liveliest parts are around Rue Mouffetard, lined with crêperies and international street food eateries, and Place de la Contrescarpe characterised by terraced brasseries, this neighborhood provides real nourishment for the mind, belly, and soul.
