We stayed for a week and found the hotel to be comfortable, clean and well presented. The staff were helpful and courteous. The location was convenient for metro and buses and this part of Paris is relaxed and blessed with a good selection of resteraunts and bars. We had an excellent room with views across the city. Our stay could... More

the hotel is absolutely perfect as a base for exploring Paris . It is a short walk to denfer rochereau train station which has regular direct connections with Charles de Gaulle airport. It is situated in a lovely area with bustling markets and shops very nearby as well as some nice restaurants and bars. The hotel itself is spotless and... More

This hotel is supposedly a 4-star property -- so says the sign on the front of the hotel (further to inspection by the relevant French government agency). This is not justified. This is a modest establishment which, happily has pleasant staff (at least those I dealt with). Being away from large crowds of tourists is also a plus. On the... More

I have been to Paris before. This trip this time however, stands out because the Villa Montparnasse was so comfortable, accommodating and well placed near the sights that make Paris what it is. The room at the hotel and neat, clean, well appointed and the bed was truly comfortable. We stayed on the 5th floor and the noise from the... More

A lovely wee hotel with friendly staff who make you feel so welcome. Buy tickets from here for bus tour around city. Handy to metro and patisserie who sell delicious bread. Alcohol is expensive in nearby cafes but lovely location.

The hotel is 5 minutes walk from Denfert-Rochereau on the RER-B. It takes about 15-20 minutes to right in the middle of the city. There are several restaurants, bistros and cafes within walking distance of the hotel making its a great location. The service was good and the room was old fashioned, but had charm. The huge bath tub made... More

Staying in Montparnasse

Neighborhood Profile
Montparnasse
The namesake tower of Montparnasse dominates over the landscape but the fun part is the throbbing life that goes on below it. Bright lights, busy cinemas, brasseries and diners encompass hidden museums and parks to entertain the masses. Long avenues lead away from the tower to take you to unsuspecting places and historical monuments and treasures. In between lie adorable ivy-covered houses with beams and small gardens to match. Just a short metro ride away from the center of Paris this neighborhood has something for every hour of the day.
