The hotel experience was one of the best I have experienced in over 50 years of international travel. Absolutely first rate service, an extremely comfortable room, and a great location where t he traffic noise was non existent. We will be back.

Pretty seasoned travelers here, must have stayed in nearly 500 hotels over the past 35 years (mostly for business), and usually, there's something that is less than ideal. Some people are very nit picky about things that have little impact, but usually, you forget about the within a few minutes anyway. Paris is a nice hotel town in general, although... More

We recently stayed at the Victoria Palace on the recommendation of our travel agent. We had the need of a room for three adult friends traveling together, which can be hard to find. Not so at the Victoria Palace! Our room was lovely, and huge, so the extra bed brought in fit fine. It is an older hotel with lots... More

I chose this hotel as the one I stayed at previously was closed for renovations. I wish I had found this one by accident sooner! It is a lovely hotel, and a very good price. The location is within a minute walking distance of a large Metro station, which makes getting around Paris very convenient - but it isn't smack... More

I have mixed feelings about my stay at this admittedly beautiful hotel. While our junior suite was spacious and comfortable, the hotel itself had a chilly vibe. There was no lobby life, the bar was virtually empty (the "bartender" also served as a porter or doorman, I believe, so was never there unless you went physically to the sedate and... More

Dear Madam or Sir, Thank you for taking the time to write such a long and thoughtful review of your stay at the Victoria Palace Hotel. I am sorry you found the hotel had a somewhat ‘chilly vibe’ which is not at all what we wish. However, part of that perception may be linked to a few exceptional circumstances. You... More

My wife and I stayed for a week and had a wonderful experience. The location of the hotel is great and we were able to walk to everything on the left bank including Luxembourg Gardens. The room was very large by Paris standards and very quiet creating a peaceful atmosphere. The staff were very attentive and helpful, although they were... More

Beautiful rooms, lovely, informative and helpful staff, great breakfast. Close to shopping and restaurants. Subway was a bit of a walk but not bad. Quiet location and worked well because we needed a room for 3 people.

We had booked hotel reservations almost a year ago at Hotel LeLitre in Paris because a few couples traveling with us had stayed there before. A few weeks before our departure, we were notified that Hotel LeLitre was not finished with their renovations and that they would be moving us to Victoria Palace a short distance away. Lucky for us... More

We wanted a hotel in the Montparnasse area, having stayed before on the Right Bank. We couldn't have been more pleased with the friendly & helpful staff, comfortable & spacious room and bath (we stayed on the top floor) and good breakfast at the Victoria Palace. The only downside for us was the location as we have walking & stair... More

Staying in Saint-Germain-des-Pres

Neighborhood Profile
Saint-Germain-des-Pres
In Saint-Germain-des-Prés, life is effortlessly chic and all things are beautiful. The main boulevard is dotted with famed terraced cafés, haut-couture shops, ivy-covered railings and fine-dining restaurants. Antique dealers and art galleries surround the fine art school and small museums hide in unassuming squares. The neighborhood’s namesake church is the oldest in Paris and is the backdrop for talented musicians every weekend. The Luxembourg Gardens house the national senate, splendid lawns and flourishing flower beds. Famous faces and bourgeois Parisians frequent Saint Germain accompanied by the students of Rue Saint Guillaume and Rue des Saints-Pères. This is a neighborhood where afternoon people-watching from a café or playing cards in a brasserie are a key part of the daily fabric.
