This charming little hotel is ideally located in the 6th, directly across from Saint Germain de Pres. The area has fabulous shopping and a tremendous array of restaurants, bars, nightlife, and some of the best boulangeries and patisseries in Paris (Eric Kayser, Poilane). It is within walking distance of two metro lines and is an easy walk to the Seine,... More

I stayed at the Hotel Madison on Boulevard Saint Germain on December 12-14, on the occasion of a lecture at the University Paris-Descartes. I have stayed in many hotels in Paris over the years (not always my own choice), but this one is my favourite. I have fond memories of my first stay in Hotel Madison on my very first... More

A well taken care of hotel in the heart of Saint Germain des Pres in Paris, one of the most beautiful and popular districts ! This was my second stay there and everything I have to say is good. The rooms are nicely decorated and the bathrooms also are clean and nice. I would like to go back there next... More

We really couldn't have been happier with our accommodations at the Hotel Madison. The location was beyond ideal... right in the center of the St. Germain de Pres area, near some of the most famous cafes, right near 2 metro lines, great restaurants and walking distance so much of what we wanted to see: Latin Quarter, Luxembourg gardens/palace, Place St.Michel,... I thought this hotel was great. We didn't have any issues. The room was clean and decorated very nicely. We were on the 7th floor and over looked the church. We didn't have any issues with the street sound keeping us awake. GREAT location too. very central to everything. The better restaurants were on the back side of the hotel... More

This is a wonderful, trendy, boutique hotel in an excellent location on the left bank. The staff is attentive, helpful, enjoyable, and conversant in English (thank you- my French is poor). A friend and I stayed here for three days during rainy October. The hotel is located on the left bank, in district 6, within what I consider walking distance... More

My wife and I had been to Paris more than 20 times before we finally stayed at the Madision this year. Despite being in what I think is the absolutely best location in Paris, we had somehow overlooked this incredible hotel until this trip. After a major renovation a few years ago, the Madison is now a complete and unmatched... More

Hotel Madison ticked all the boxes for a long weekend in Paris. Welcoming, friendly staff throughout our stay, a modern stylish room with view onto Boulevard Saint-Germain and perfectly located, just a couple of minutes walk to two different metro lines and surrounded by numerous cafes, restaurants and shops in a beautiful part of Paris. We had a Premium City... More

We stayed seven nights at this beautiful hotel. We keep congratulating ourselves for choosing this hotel after much research. The location is perfect, conveniently located to everything we were interest in seeing. Easy walking distance to the Louvre, Notre Dame, the Sorbonne, Musee d' Orsay, Cafe de Flore, and Les Deux Maggots. Two Metro stations are very close as are... More

Staying in Saint-Germain-des-Pres

Neighborhood Profile
Saint-Germain-des-Pres
In Saint-Germain-des-Prés, life is effortlessly chic and all things are beautiful. The main boulevard is dotted with famed terraced cafés, haut-couture shops, ivy-covered railings and fine-dining restaurants. Antique dealers and art galleries surround the fine art school and small museums hide in unassuming squares. The neighborhood’s namesake church is the oldest in Paris and is the backdrop for talented musicians every weekend. The Luxembourg Gardens house the national senate, splendid lawns and flourishing flower beds. Famous faces and bourgeois Parisians frequent Saint Germain accompanied by the students of Rue Saint Guillaume and Rue des Saints-Pères. This is a neighborhood where afternoon people-watching from a café or playing cards in a brasserie are a key part of the daily fabric.
