We found the Hotel des Deux Continents clean and quaint although the rooms were a little small for a family of young adults. We were in the family suite which is on the top floor and the hot water took several minutes to reach our room. The water does not drain very well either so you could not have long... More

Typical small rooms and costly. However, we would stay there again. Staff spoke English and hotel served as a nice retreat during our 3-day visit. Breakfast was standard Parisian fare, which I enjoyed. Not a good option for GF diners, however. We bought our own bread at the Monoprix and enjoyed the variety of cheeses and jams.

The hotel is clean and is in a great neighborhood, and if you stay in the annex -- and on the top floor -- it will be quiet. But really, you can find a better place even in this "quartier." A three-star should be better than this. The smallest room is tiny, even by Paris standards (I thought I had... More

Nice and clean hotel, on a cozy small street near the river, and several well know cafes. Rooms very basic and lack minibar/fridge plus a regular double bed. Very small as well, but i guess thats just the Paris way. Staff friendly and cleaniness on a fine level.

The first time I stayed at this hotel was in the 1980"s, there have been many changes since then, but I have always enjoyed my visits. The location is amazing, many sights are within walking distance (especially if you like to walk!) and both the Metro and RER are nearby. There are also many charming restaurants in the area and... We were well aware that staying in such a prime location would be very expensive and the rooms small. However, any hotel should aspire to being better than this. We had two rooms, one family room for my niece and her two children and one double for my husband and I. Our room was old and tired but adequate and... More

Bearing in mind this is Paris, our rom was pretty generous in size in that we could move around the bed and didn't have to take it in turns to do things like look in the mirror, except that as "large" people we did have to get quite intimate with the shower door in order to close it after entering... Came to Paris for five days of tourism. Our room was very clean and gave us enough space for three. The staff was very friendly and helpful whenever needed. They had umbrellas to borrow! Staying in Saint-Germain-des-Pres

Neighborhood Profile
Saint-Germain-des-Pres
In Saint-Germain-des-Prés, life is effortlessly chic and all things are beautiful. The main boulevard is dotted with famed terraced cafés, haut-couture shops, ivy-covered railings and fine-dining restaurants. Antique dealers and art galleries surround the fine art school and small museums hide in unassuming squares. The neighborhood’s namesake church is the oldest in Paris and is the backdrop for talented musicians every weekend. The Luxembourg Gardens house the national senate, splendid lawns and flourishing flower beds. Famous faces and bourgeois Parisians frequent Saint Germain accompanied by the students of Rue Saint Guillaume and Rue des Saints-Pères. This is a neighborhood where afternoon people-watching from a café or playing cards in a brasserie are a key part of the daily fabric.
