The cost vs location trade off is a no brainer. Located in a very nice area, you have much in the surrounding streets re cafés, restaurants, shops, etc. Walking distance to many more attractions and the Seine, and with an underground station nearby, you have a great location to build a visit to Paris around. My only complaint was that... More

I used to stay at the sister hotel two doors from this hotel, Hotel Maronnier but couldn't get reservation so stayed here. This is one of my favorite area to stay when I am in Paris. Very nice boutique hotel. Receptionists all speak English and very nice. Nothing fancy but efficient. Very quiet for Latin Quarter. Love Laduree across the... More

We have just made out second visit to this hotel, and having stayed in Paris a dozen or more times in the past, feel that this is the best. The location is superb - a 5 minute walk to the Seine with the Louvre and Notre Dame just a few more minutes away, and, in the other direction, a great... More

I stayed here for two weeks with my Mom... Amazing location. I loved the staff. I loved the room and everything was very comfortable and clean. The rooms were small but very tastefully decorated. I would love to return!!!

If you are looking for a hotel which is not too expensive, pretty ok, professional, though not flashy, this is the place to go: I got a very nice room with French balcony to the street. Very small but functional bathroom, good bed, and standard but ok typical French breakfast. Very neutral service in reception and at breakfast. Excellent location... More

Very well located on the left bank. Near to markets, restaurants, St. Germain. Clean, efficient hotel. Even reasonable size room by Paris standards. Helpful receptionist. Very similar to other small hotels in the St. Germain area, but slightly better value.

I have stayed at this hotel 2 times and it is a wonderful hotel. The rooms are small but well appointed and the location can't be beat. Close to the river and to all major sites (within walking distance) - great restaurants close by - you can get the real "feel" of Paris here. For an extra 10 euros you... More

We just had a wonderful 5 nights stay at hotel de deux continents. The hotel just recently renovated so it's nice and clean. And most important, it's the location. Even though it's only 15 minutes walk to the louvre, notre dame, 5 minutes to Seine but the hotel is located in a quiet street full of art galleries. From the... More

Great location that was a reason why we picked this hotel to stay. Center located, small, boutique style and safe hotel. 2 metro stations are nearby. Room (2 twin beds) is really small as well as a bathroom and separate toilette. No porter and this is very inconvenient because our room was at 3 floor, no elevator. So my opinion... More

The hotel reeks of old Paris. It is charmingly old, but very up-to-date and nice to stay. Don't expect to get spacious well assorted bedrooms. But you will, in exchange, get the feeling that you've jumped back in time to the days of the French Revolution. It is extremely well located for those that love the Saint Germain atmosphere. Trying... More

Staying in Saint-Germain-des-Pres

Neighborhood Profile
Saint-Germain-des-Pres
In Saint-Germain-des-Prés, life is effortlessly chic and all things are beautiful. The main boulevard is dotted with famed terraced cafés, haut-couture shops, ivy-covered railings and fine-dining restaurants. Antique dealers and art galleries surround the fine art school and small museums hide in unassuming squares. The neighborhood’s namesake church is the oldest in Paris and is the backdrop for talented musicians every weekend. The Luxembourg Gardens house the national senate, splendid lawns and flourishing flower beds. Famous faces and bourgeois Parisians frequent Saint Germain accompanied by the students of Rue Saint Guillaume and Rue des Saints-Pères. This is a neighborhood where afternoon people-watching from a café or playing cards in a brasserie are a key part of the daily fabric.
