I cannot compliment this hotel enough. Rooms have the cutest Parisian typical decor and face a square where live jazz is played almost every night. Great large bathroom with a tub. Big windows. Absolutely perfect location. I've stayed in three different 5-star hotels in Paris and strongly believe that rooms L'Univers have the same exact standard of comfort, quality and... More

We stayed 5 nights in this hotel and I give it top marks for location an service. The concierge made several great recommendatins for supper and was very helpful. There is a good shuttle available to the airport for 19E/person. This is in such a good spot, that we didn't even use the metro (it is between Odeon and Mabillon)... More

Friendly unobtrusive staff, clean rooms, great neighborhood. Their internet provider is really annoying so I don't recommend it for working online from the room all day (the lack of desk is a problem for that too) but it's such a lovely neighborhood, no need to hang out in the room much anyway. The ice cream place at the corner is... More

I spent here just one night. The hotel is conveniently located just a few steps away from the metro station and church of St Michael. The street is quite enough and in the area you can find a wide range of restaurants and pub. The reception is pretty wide and also my room was comfortable

A real taste of Paris! On the corner is a beautiful florist and down the street is a bevy of cafes, pastry shops, etc. The hotel is clean and comfortable.... some might consider rooms small but this is Paris.......easy walking distance from most points of interest. Wallcovering in the room needs updating. Overall great location and great value.

Helpful staff and clean & pleasantly decorated rooms (though very basic). Spot on location with good connection to most parts of the city. Free wi-fi available. The bathroom is in urgent need of renovation. The breakfast room is at the basement and is extremely depressing. I wouldn't recommend to anyone to start their day in Paris there.

I spent one night at this Best Western hotel. It is conveniently located in the hearth of St Germain; just a few steps away from the metro station; and Notre Dame. Located in a pretty quiet street you'll be welcomed by a polite staff and will also enjoy the charming reception. The room was large enough and pretty well decorated.... More

A night in Paris! Oh, what a night...and the Grand Hotel L'Univers made it all the better. Situated in Saint Germain, the location is near great cafes, pubs and designer shops. From the early check-in (at no extra charge), to the helpful managers who gave great advise on places to visit on such a short stay, this hotel may be... More

The location was superb for visiting the sites of Paris. Rooms were small, as is the norm in Paris, but well-equipped with safe and mini fridge. We had the breakfast one morning, and it was prettgood, except for the runny eggs.. The neighbourhood (St Germaine), is great - lots of small shops, restaurants, bakeries, we are one night at chez... Staying in Saint-Germain-des-Pres

Neighborhood Profile
In Saint-Germain-des-Prés, life is effortlessly chic and all things are beautiful. The main boulevard is dotted with famed terraced cafés, haut-couture shops, ivy-covered railings and fine-dining restaurants. Antique dealers and art galleries surround the fine art school and small museums hide in unassuming squares. The neighborhood’s namesake church is the oldest in Paris and is the backdrop for talented musicians every weekend. The Luxembourg Gardens house the national senate, splendid lawns and flourishing flower beds. Famous faces and bourgeois Parisians frequent Saint Germain accompanied by the students of Rue Saint Guillaume and Rue des Saints-Pères. This is a neighborhood where afternoon people-watching from a café or playing cards in a brasserie are a key part of the daily fabric.
