OK, let's be clear. This is not the Georges V. But then again, it isn't pretending to be. This is a good clean hotel not far from the Gare de l'Est in Paris. Rooms are clean, staff are friendly and helpful and the price is very reasonable. Would I stay here again if I was visiting Paris overnight? Absolutely.

Looked good from the images on the internet but this hotel was a big disappointment. Situated in a noisy back street, and it has little to offer. Cramped rooms, no bar or lounge area, limited choice at breakfast (cooked eggs will cost you 3 euros extra). We asked for scrambled eggs and they arrived as flat overcooked omelettes. The breakfast... More

As a family with two teenagers we stayed in two Standard double rooms on the 2nd and 3rd floors. The rooms were tres petite but full of charm. In fact, the bathrooms were so small that when my husband sat on the toilet his knees touched the wall. However, staying on Isle St. Louis was ideally close to Notre Dame,... More

If I were to come to Paris again I would stay here. The location is wonderful. Not only is the Isle St. Louis charming, and full of shops and restaurants, there are bridges at both ends that connect to both Right and Left Banks. The Seine gives wonderful views and it's an easy walk to metro or bus. How wonderful... More

Love this hotel. Very clean, great location. Rooms are well equipped even though they are small but for Paris it is great. Bed comfortable and best ever shower. I could not recommend this hotel highly enough. We have stayed twice before and service accommodation always great. We will be back.

What a great location. Air-conditioned rooms - we were there in recent heatwave. We walked everywhere from this location. Rooms were very nice - smaller than I was used to - but I understand this is quite large for Paris. A nice breakfast each day in a very nice stone walled basement. Bernard & all the staff were always friendly... More

We stayed at the hotel for 5 nights the first week in June 2015. It was exactly as we had pictured it. The room was big enough and the service was friendly, helpful, engaging, in short, delightful. We had a superior twin room to get the extra room and were not disappointed. We cannot say enough about how wonderful our... More

I booked this hotel one year in advance and put a one night deposit on it which was charged to my credit card. The day we were leaving for Paris I received an email stating that a mistake was made and our reservation was no longer valid. They also stated they were going to put us in a sister hotel... More

After walking past the hotel last November we decided it would be the perfect location for a mini break. How right we were. The hotel is ideally located in a very central location close to museums, gardens and shops of St Germain-des-pres and Marais. Our room was on the corner of the third floor and although not huge was perfect... More

The staff of this hotel was very helpful and nice, always ready with a suggestion and reconfirming reservations at restaurants. The best thing about this hotel is its location, on the Ile Saint Louis which is right next to La Cite where Notre Dame is located. You are so close to the history of the beginnings of Paris and it... More

Staying in Ile de la Cite / Ile Saint-Louis

Neighborhood Profile
Ile de la Cite / Ile Saint-Louis
Two islands sit in the middle of the Seine at the very heart of Paris. The more majestic one, Ile de la Cité, sparkles with history. This is the birthplace of Paris, the home of the Gothic Sainte-Chapelle, and the site of the prison where Marie Antoinette was held before her execution. Tourists flock to see the iconic Notre Dame and the beautiful bridges that straddle the Seine. Ile Saint-Louis, the more provincial island, welcomes you with cozy traditional eateries, small boutiques, and what some people say is the best ice cream in the city. This is essential Paris from its very beginnings to its modern appeal.
