This is a wonderful small hotel on the Ile Saint-Louis. My sister had stayed there before and when we planned a family trip we all booked rooms at this hotel. The rooms were fine--not huge but more than adequate. There was free wifi and extra pillows and blankets. The bathroom was small but the shower was large with plenty of... More

This is a lovely, small hotel on the Île Saint-Louis. Although the building is historic, the rooms were decorated in quite a modern style, the bathroom was very smart (with REALLY hot water and great pressure) and there were mod cons like iPhone dock & free wifi. The room wasn't huge, but fine for two of us. Spare pillows and... More

My husband and I stayed at this small hotel on Lisle St Louis for 3 nights in January,We had a corner room on the 3rd floor which was very comfortable. the shower room was warm and luxurious in spite of being small. There were views from both windows and the two windows made the room seem more spacious than it... More

My wife and I stayed 11 nights in Hotel Ile St. Louis, December 18 to December 29, 2014 and enjoyed our stay. The hotel has many things going for it and only one that needs improvement. Let us be positive first: Location, location, location. This hotel has a great location on the Ile St. Louis, one of the two islands... More

Perfectly located, surrounded by good restaurants within walking distance of the museums and of course, the Seine. Our room which was on the fifth floor with two small balconies was ideal. Everything we arranged with the hotel staff including dinner reservations, taxis and car to the airport was handled seamlessly. In short, we could not have been more pleased with... More

Loved this hotel for many reasons, including the location, the staff and the rooms. We had a room for 3 on the 5th floor, such a charming room furnished with antiques, two balconies and a timber beamed ceiling. Every morning we would throw open the shutters to check the weather and see what was happening on the street below. Made... More

I can't think of a better location to stay in Paris. Quiet street within walking distance of most everything you'd want to see on left or right banks. The staff were excellent and friendly. Room 502 was fantastic for three-roomy for a European hotel. As a runner it is about a mile to La Coulée Verte which is a converted... More

We stayed here for 4 nights in a room on the ground floor with disabled bathroom. I arrived in Paris with a broken ankle, not what we had planned, but the staff at this hotel went out of their way to help me, and to salvage what we could from a difficult situation. We were picked from the airport by... More

This was our first trip to Paris and we were lucky enough to have stayed here. The rooms were so charming and romantic. This is a perfect place for couples. The elevator is very tiny so if you are claustrophobic, I would take the stairs or minimize your luggage! We can't wait to return to this hotel!

The location of Hotel Saint Louis was great... within walking distance of many attractions and restaurants yet on a fairly quiet street... for Paris! Our room was on the bottom floor. It was well appointed, sizable by European standards, fantastic shower, comfortable bed and overall charming. Our chief complaint was that our room was on the bottom floor and it... More

Staying in Ile de la Cite / Ile Saint-Louis

Neighborhood Profile
Ile de la Cite / Ile Saint-Louis
Two islands sit in the middle of the Seine at the very heart of Paris. The more majestic one, Ile de la Cité, sparkles with history. This is the birthplace of Paris, the home of the Gothic Sainte-Chapelle, and the site of the prison where Marie Antoinette was held before her execution. Tourists flock to see the iconic Notre Dame and the beautiful bridges that straddle the Seine. Ile Saint-Louis, the more provincial island, welcomes you with cozy traditional eateries, small boutiques, and what some people say is the best ice cream in the city. This is essential Paris from its very beginnings to its modern appeal.
