Very nice hotel in a wonderful location. Isle Saint-Louis is centrally located and the hotel is just steps from the Seine. What a treat to walk to the Seine in the early morning on our way to enjoy the city. Isle Saint-Louis also has a great selection of restaurants and stores. The hotel staff are very helpful. We had a... More

My husband and I recently spent 2 nights at Hotel Saint-Louis en l'Isle during the first part of our trip to France. On previous trips to Paris I have always stayed in the Latin Quarter, and I loved staying on the Ile Saint-Louis. The location is central to so many sights in Paris, and we easily walked everywhere from the... More

In the heart of the Saint Louis Isle in Paris. Perfect location. Near Notre Dame cathedral and the Marais quarter. Unique Parisian Hospitality. Good room and wonderful breakfast room in the basement. Nice small lobby. Close to excellent restaurants and .ice cream shop. Certainly a charming hotel. Elevator serve all floors. Traditional Hotel.

We booked the studio before leaving home, sounded wonderful on the website. We were unaware as to how far away it was from the hotel. Although I found it very rustic and quaint, husband was not impressed. Saving grace was it being extremely quiet. Our tariff included breakfast and although the lady in the breakfast room did not have a... More

Stayed at this hotel for 10 days and found it delightful. The location was fabulous - steps from Notre Dame and close to the Metro stop St. Michael where there's an info wicket and free transit maps. As well as the Metro, the RER train stops here as well, very convenient for a day trip to Versailles. The rooms are... More

If you would like to experience the Paris of old films and romance novels, this is the place for you. As you open the windows in the morning and look down into the narrow street, you get a sense of the Paris that inspired those works. And yes rooms are generally smaller than those in the States, but you will... More

This is on the island of Saint Louis just a short walk from Notre Dame. The room was classic, small, but as would be expected in a small Paris hotel. The staff was helpful and fluent in English. Several good restaurants are just down the block. Taxis can be found at the corner at the bridge. Pleasant and not overly... More

The hotel as has been said is in a perfect location for going to both the left and right banks. My room was very small but very clean. The breakfast was poor and so only ate there once. The clerks at the front desk were surly and very only minimally helpful. Ask for an upper room. I was in room... More

We found this small hotel on the internet and the photographs of the room looked more spacious than it really was and this was a superior room. The toilet in the bathroom was in a narrow alcove and you had to sit at an angle. The room overlooked the street on the 3rd floor but surprisingly no street noise made... More

We have stayed in this hotel often, and normally have no problems. This time, we experienced an issue where we were on a main floor room. We did not want to open the window as it opened on to the street, and the a/c did not work. A most uncomfortable sleep, and a desk clerk who did not seem to... More

Staying in Ile de la Cite / Ile Saint-Louis

Neighborhood Profile
Ile de la Cite / Ile Saint-Louis
Two islands sit in the middle of the Seine at the very heart of Paris. The more majestic one, Ile de la Cité, sparkles with history. This is the birthplace of Paris, the home of the Gothic Sainte-Chapelle, and the site of the prison where Marie Antoinette was held before her execution. Tourists flock to see the iconic Notre Dame and the beautiful bridges that straddle the Seine. Ile Saint-Louis, the more provincial island, welcomes you with cozy traditional eateries, small boutiques, and what some people say is the best ice cream in the city. This is essential Paris from its very beginnings to its modern appeal.
