My wife and I stayed here for 5 nights. Our first time in Paris and this location was perfect. Very near Notre Dame; but also within walking distance to many museums and attractions in all parts of the city. There are many cute shops; food and treat stores; and excellent restaurants within the two-block area around this hotel. Boulangerie and... More

Being situated on Isle St Louis puts this hotel in the perfect spot to explore Isle de Citi, the left bank and the right bank. The street it is located on has some wonderful little shops and great restaurants. There is a market right next door that is great for picking up water, fresh fruit, snacks, etc. The room size... The hotel was perfect for the two of us. Centrally located near Notre Dame. Charming street with lots of very good, intimate restaurants and variety of shops so dinner and shopping after a long day of sightseeing was a snap. It's not a nightlife-type neighborhood. People were in the restaurants later drinking and talking, but not partying. Didn't see a... More

Hotel de Lutece is a nice hotel in the perfect location. The hotel is located on Rue Saint Louis en l’Ile in the heart of the old city. It is an island in the middle of the Seine and across the bridge is Notre Dame. We were able to walk or take the Metro to anywhere we wanted to go... More

If you want somewhere away from it all in the middle of Paris then this as a location is as good as it gets. A small island with the Seine running on both sides it has the feel of a community as opoosed to the more brash parts of Paris and yet very close to everything. There are good restaurants... More

Well located small hotel in one of my favorite areas to stay in Paris in the shadow of Notre Dame. Excellent transportation connections nearby and both the Latin Quarter and the shops and restaurants of the Marais are steps away. The area is very quiet in the evening, making for a restful night. The hotel is very clean, comfortable, and... More

My sister and I spent 10 days at this hotel. This was my first trip to Paris, but her third. At first, the small room size was a bit of a culture shock for me as hotel rooms is the U.S. are very large, but it did not feel small at all. There was so much built-in storage space that... More

The Hotel de Lutece was recommended to me by a colleague, and it was an excellent base for exploring Parris. The room was small but excellently fitted out, and it was very quiet at night. They offer free wifi. The friendly, helpful staff were delightful. Breakfast was good on quantity - croissant, pain au chocolat and fresh bread roll with... More

We just recently return from a weekend trip to Paris. We decided to stay at the Hotel de Lutece to experience the lovely neighborhood. Our check in was perfect, with no issues. The wood beams and small fireplace in the lobby are enchanting. We stayed on the 5th floor which I would highly recommend. If you have a lot of... More

We stayed in the top floor room of this very small and private hotel. It did have an elevator. The windows opened to the rooftops of Paris, like a magical dream. The room had centuries old beams and was immaculately clean and comfortable. The modern updated and large bath was well lighted and exceptionally clean. It was perfect! Quiet cobbled... More

Staying in Ile de la Cite / Ile Saint-Louis

Neighborhood Profile
Ile de la Cite / Ile Saint-Louis
Two islands sit in the middle of the Seine at the very heart of Paris. The more majestic one, Ile de la Cité, sparkles with history. This is the birthplace of Paris, the home of the Gothic Sainte-Chapelle, and the site of the prison where Marie Antoinette was held before her execution. Tourists flock to see the iconic Notre Dame and the beautiful bridges that straddle the Seine. Ile Saint-Louis, the more provincial island, welcomes you with cozy traditional eateries, small boutiques, and what some people say is the best ice cream in the city. This is essential Paris from its very beginnings to its modern appeal.
