We really enjoyed our stay at the hotel. Very well located on a quiet street in the center of St. Germain. Our room had a great outdoor deck, very spacios, confortable bed and spacious bathroom. Breakfast was simple but good, great service. This is not a glamorous hotel nor a particularly handsome one, but it is very confortable. Just wish... More

The hotel is well located in a nice quiet street. The river is a short walk away as is the Museum D'Orsey. Room was very comfortable and clean. Would definitely stay again on next trip to Paris. Very comfortable bed but only slight criticism is that the pillar was a bit too puffy for us.

My son & I stayed for a second time at this hotel from 7-10th April. We had chosen room 54 on the top floor as we wanted to be able to sit on the terrace & enjoy a view across the rooftops to the Eiffel Tower. We were delighted with the room, spacious and contemporary, with a coffee machine as... More

Wonderful location - and very happy with my second room ( I asked to move rooms) - large room/ huge very comfy bed / tastefully decorated in French style with a lovely beamed ceiling and bath (room 32) - and quiet- always a plus - but I can't love the hotel because of what I refer to as the wifi... Very professional and nice staff. Excellent spacious charming room with TV, safe box, bureau desk, a small round table and chairs. Very comfortable bed and many pillows. Excellent shower and also spacious bathroom. Silent and safe area very close to Saint Germain de Pres, Musee D'Orsay, Louvre etc. Poor wi-fi.

I arrived at about 6 in the morning and didn’t expect my room to be ready. But the man on duty told me that if I wanted to throw a sheet (clean, which he gave me) over the bed in a room that had just been vacated, I was welcome to. It may sound weird, but honestly, I was exhausted... More

I am very glad to have discovered this little gem of a hotel. The location is pure perfection - few minutes' walk from some of key points in Paris - love the proximity to Louvre, and Le Bon Marche. It is well connected with metro as it is very close to 2 metro stations. The street is very quiet and... More

This was my first stay at hotel de l'Universite and it was very pleasant. We had a huge room by Paris standards and well appointed. Hotel staff was very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was brought to our room within 10 minutes of ordering. Wifi was fast. Has a mini bar and safe in the room. Only negatives (and certainly not... More

The hotel was beautiful and in a great location, I was impressed by the size of the room and the bathroom, we even had a bathtub! The bed was super comfortable and the decor was modern with some classic pieces. I would definitely stay there again, the location was excellent, we pretty much walked everywhere and there were plenty of... More

Staying in Saint-Germain-des-Pres

Neighborhood Profile
In Saint-Germain-des-Prés, life is effortlessly chic and all things are beautiful. The main boulevard is dotted with famed terraced cafés, haut-couture shops, ivy-covered railings and fine-dining restaurants. Antique dealers and art galleries surround the fine art school and small museums hide in unassuming squares. The neighborhood’s namesake church is the oldest in Paris and is the backdrop for talented musicians every weekend. The Luxembourg Gardens house the national senate, splendid lawns and flourishing flower beds. Famous faces and bourgeois Parisians frequent Saint Germain accompanied by the students of Rue Saint Guillaume and Rue des Saints-Pères. This is a neighborhood where afternoon people-watching from a café or playing cards in a brasserie are a key part of the daily fabric.
