We have enjoyed from a big and modern room, with a queen-size bed, good acclimatization and no noise at all The location of the hotel is perfect, you can go walking to almost everywhere in Paris, and you are very close to the best area for dinner, with lots of good and not-expensive restaurants. The service is correct. The hotel... More

Strongly recommend Hotel Universite in the St. Germain area of Paris. Able to walk or metro everywhere from this base. Great dining in the St. Germain area. Very reasonable rates. Very quiet as we had a room that opened into the courtyard. There was an anteroom where we were able to safely secure our luggage. The room was huge by... More

This is the third time I stay in this hotel. Quiet, clean and spacious room with nice view. You'll definitely feel safe around the hotel area and get easily accesssable to different scenic spots and eateries. If you enjoy strolling along side streets and see little shops, rather than department stores, this is a place where you should stay. Staff... More

If you are looking for a comfortable, spacious, air conditioned room with king size bed in Paris, this is the best deal around. We could not have been happier with the service and the location is unbeatable, just across the river from Louvre and next door to Orsay. They even sell discounted museum tickets with special access to avoid lines.... More

My daughter and I stayed at Hotel de l'Universite in June. From our check-in with Michel through the week, everything was wonderful. When I go back to Paris, I will once again stay at this hotel! Merci!

We stayed here for 2 nights. Hotel is located on a small side street, 5 minutes from the Metro, we walked from Saint Germain Des Pres which is on line 4 direct from Guard Nord. Check in was the fastest I recall, no production of passports etc, just handed the key card over once our name was confirmed. Rooms were... More

L'universite had everything we needed, and the location was perfect. Staff was very helpful and accommodating. Stairs could be an issue for those who struggle, the lift is very small. Bathrooms were excellent, the mini fridge and safe were both helpful and the saint Germaine neighborhood is a favorite. Would defiantly stay here again.

What a charming hotel! Of all the places to stay in Paris it was a little daunting to pick one and we could not have done better! Very clean and surprisingly modern and spacious. Our room is very bright with big windows that open onto the garden! Very clean and spacious bathroom and comfy bed. The staff is so friendly... More

Our room was very comfortable. We appreciated the fact that they sold tickets for the Louvre and the D'Orsay at the front desk, because it saved us time. (The lines for non ticket holders are quite long.) But the elevator was broken when we arrived and it was broken when we departed, and was also broken some days in between.... More

Staying in Saint-Germain-des-Pres

Neighborhood Profile
Saint-Germain-des-Pres
In Saint-Germain-des-Prés, life is effortlessly chic and all things are beautiful. The main boulevard is dotted with famed terraced cafés, haut-couture shops, ivy-covered railings and fine-dining restaurants. Antique dealers and art galleries surround the fine art school and small museums hide in unassuming squares. The neighborhood’s namesake church is the oldest in Paris and is the backdrop for talented musicians every weekend. The Luxembourg Gardens house the national senate, splendid lawns and flourishing flower beds. Famous faces and bourgeois Parisians frequent Saint Germain accompanied by the students of Rue Saint Guillaume and Rue des Saints-Pères. This is a neighborhood where afternoon people-watching from a café or playing cards in a brasserie are a key part of the daily fabric.
