This hotel is a very beautiful solution to stay some days in Paris. It's located near Orsay museum and it's also very close to metro, so you could reach the place you want in few minutes. The room was very pretty and clean, with a comfortable space and a bathroom that seemed like new. Employees and all hotel personnel are... More

I really appreciated my staying in the Hotel de l'Universite. Walking distance from the D'Orsay Museum it's surrounded by antique shops, fashion shops and art galleries. There are also very good restaurants and cafes, where you can taste the best cheese cake ever. I also appreciated the Hotel's spacious room and bathroom which are the same size of regular ones... Stayed only one night, but wished we'd stayed longer. Room 15. Lovely big bed and fantastic bathroom. As said by others, reception staff very pleasant and helpful. Location was great, especially for left bank & central venues. Some nice cafe bars a short distance for lunch or breakfast.

Nice neighborhood feel yet able to walk to all tourist destinations. We walked to Notre Dame- Musee D'Orsay - Eiffel Tower among other places. Did not have breakfast in hotel since there were so many cafes in the neighborhood. One thing I thought was odd was that we were not asked for any ID when checking in.

This was the first time I had stayed at this hotel and I would recommend it highly. The rooms were extremely comfortable, the staff was wonderful, and the area convenient to just about everything. I have travelled to Paris many times and this was by far my most pleasurable experience.

A fantastic hotel with great staff who were friendly and helpful at all times. Location is superb for all main sights, particularly because you can walk down the river to most things. Room was a great size and very clean. Great stay!

We stayed at this hotel many times before it got a complete renovation. So we were blown away by the amenities, free Wi-Fi, flat screen TV, a modern bathroom, not to mention the warmth of the staff! Before we put up with the age and attitude of the old hotel because of it's great location in the 7th. The contrast... More

It has been the 3rd stay here, and it is a lovely place. If you want to shop, wander around, do business and get the feel of Paris at it's best, then this is a perfect location to do all this and a great place to recover from it all. You could of course contemplate buying a small 'pied a... More

Staying in Saint-Germain-des-Pres

Neighborhood Profile
Saint-Germain-des-Pres
In Saint-Germain-des-Prés, life is effortlessly chic and all things are beautiful. The main boulevard is dotted with famed terraced cafés, haut-couture shops, ivy-covered railings and fine-dining restaurants. Antique dealers and art galleries surround the fine art school and small museums hide in unassuming squares. The neighborhood’s namesake church is the oldest in Paris and is the backdrop for talented musicians every weekend. The Luxembourg Gardens house the national senate, splendid lawns and flourishing flower beds. Famous faces and bourgeois Parisians frequent Saint Germain accompanied by the students of Rue Saint Guillaume and Rue des Saints-Pères. This is a neighborhood where afternoon people-watching from a café or playing cards in a brasserie are a key part of the daily fabric.
