Located very close to Solferino metro, in a quiet and charming street, close to the Seine, Beaux Arts and in the charming 7th arrondissement. Very good value for money, clean and modern rooms, fast wi-fi. No parking but 2 public car parks nearby, st germain and Bac.

Location and Ambience: The Hotel de l'Université is located in the rue de l'Université which is a quiet street parallel to the Blvd St Germain and the Seine. The loaction is perfect for Paris sightseeing: all important sighths such as The Louvre, Musée d'Orsay, Tour Eiffel etc. could be reached in a 30 min walk. The ambience is upscale but... More

An extremely welcoming and comfortable hotel conveniently located in the beautiful 7e between Musee d'Orsay and St Germain. Lovely, well-sized rooms with modern bathrooms, including a delightful walk-in rain shower. Attentive and helpful front desk and cozy lobby breakfast area with menu options, including outstanding croissants, batards, fresh orange juice, pots of coffee or tea, and made to order eggs.... We had a wonderful time at the hotel. We arrived early innthe morning and the room was not ready (which was not a problem for us) and we discovered that they gave us an upgrade. The top floor room was gorgeous and we really enjoyed the stay!

Hotel de l'Universite is well located on a nice quiet street. Good sized room for Paris with a very comfortable bed. The bathroom is also spacious with a good shower. Just wish they provided tea or coffee facilities in the room. For a nice breakfast if you turn right when leaving the hotel a short walk will take you to... More

Nice room, though limited storage. Requesting to borrow a iron led to a detour into the basement to use hte iron and ironing board in the staff laundry room. The desk staff were insistent on always collecting our keys as we left. No tea or coffee facilities in the room. The airconditioning/ventilation didn't ventillate and on peak pollution weekend opening... More

Breakfast was simple but good, great service. This is not a glamorous hotel nor a particularly handsome one, but it is very confortable. Just wish... More

The hotel is well located in a nice quiet street. The river is a short walk away as is the Museum D'Orsey. Room was very comfortable and clean. Would definitely stay again on next trip to Paris. Very comfortable bed but only slight criticism is that the pillar was a bit too puffy for us.

Staying in Saint-Germain-des-Pres

Neighborhood Profile
Saint-Germain-des-Pres
In Saint-Germain-des-Prés, life is effortlessly chic and all things are beautiful. The main boulevard is dotted with famed terraced cafés, haut-couture shops, ivy-covered railings and fine-dining restaurants. Antique dealers and art galleries surround the fine art school and small museums hide in unassuming squares. The neighborhood’s namesake church is the oldest in Paris and is the backdrop for talented musicians every weekend. The Luxembourg Gardens house the national senate, splendid lawns and flourishing flower beds. Famous faces and bourgeois Parisians frequent Saint Germain accompanied by the students of Rue Saint Guillaume and Rue des Saints-Pères. This is a neighborhood where afternoon people-watching from a café or playing cards in a brasserie are a key part of the daily fabric.
