I recently stayed at this charming little boutique hotel. It is really lovely, and the staff was very helpful and kind. The rooms are small, but very nicely appointed. The location was excellent! I typically stay in the St. Germain des Pres area, but I really LOVED staying in the Marais!

Roomier than our previous hotel -- with beautiful views of Parisian rooftops -- our stay at Hostellerie du Marais was just right. Good service, updated amenities, and the perfect location for hopping around the Marais. We skipped the breakfast because the weather was so nice -- didn't feel like eating in a dark basemant! Also didn't take advantage of the... More

Found this hotel in Marais after reading the reviews in TA. We got a room on the fourth floor towards the street. The room was small but nice and the bathroom above average. Very clean and quiet. We also thought the breakfast was better than usual in a three star hotel and the service in the reception was very friendly.... More

-my usual destination for short stays in Paris, deep in the Marais away from madding crowds of tourists....room clean, tastefully decorated- small like all hotels this price range in Paris- with very caring gentle professional staff. Few tiny issues- again as in any 16th century building- ask for a quiet off street room as I do, and you will have... More

I loved this little hotel. It's a boutique hotel in the Marais district and is walking distance from all shops, brasseries and the metro stop. I was on the top (fifth) floor. Though the room was small, it was clean and comfortable. The bathroom was bright and modern and the view from the window was wonderful. I could see the... More

A fine hotel in the middle of the Marais with an excellent staff. The rooms are a little small but it is a major city and we were quite happy with our stay. The area is quite at night and the furnishings/linens were excellent.

Hotel very well located; rooms are not very big but of a correct size for Paris. Very calm on the court's side, but then view of the parisian roofs (if top floors), for nice view then rather ask for a room rue de Turenne's side. Rooms are clean and comfortable.

Loved the location, 5 minute walk to St Paul Metro and surrounded by a maze is streets with some of the best boutiques you could find. No shortage of restaurants either - the hotel is well appointed although there are tiny little details that I would have addressed if was the manager (ceiling in the foyer needed painting, stair carpet... No one can argue that the location is fabulous steps from the place des Vosges Picasso Museum etc. While the basics are fine here the hotel lacks charm. The bathrooms are new and nicer the the bedrooms. Still it is s great value at less than 200 euros a night.

Very-very good location in the Marais, close to everything (Place des Vosges is just around the corner, l'Ile Saint Lous at 15 min, metro Line 1 at 5 minutes' walk, lots and lots of nice shops and restaurants, Carnavalet Museum etc.). Though small, the room was nice, very clean and quiet (opening on a lightwell), the staff was helpful, the... More

Staying in Le Marais

Neighborhood Profile
Le Marais
The Marais is a winding maze of multi-faceted streets that beg to be explored. It bursts with small boutiques, historic buildings, cozy traditional restaurants, and hidden parks. Around each corner, you'll come across little gems of architecture spanning the centuries, from understated medieval towers to classical libraries and 17th century splendor. This neighborhood unites a rich mix of people of all ages, but it's best known for the gay scene mostly in the south and the Jewish community around Rue des Rosiers.
