I used to live 40 minutes away from Paris and I'd eventually stay the weekend in the city with my wife. We'd always stay at Hotel des Grands Hommes. Location is excellent, rooms are small but super cozy and comfortable. It's a small boutique hotel, really parisian! You get the feeling of old Paris but really confortably. You should definitely... Found this hotel via the Telegraph's "best hotels to say in Paris" review. The Telegraph seems to know what it's doing. Good location, helpful staff, comfortable rooms. Excellent value for money (for Paris, anyway!)

We have stayed here several times and we always are extremely happy here. As always we received a warm welcome and all the staff are very professional and helpful. The rooms are beautifully decorated and very French. The continental breakfast was excellent. It certainly set us up for a day's walking around the city. The staff are able to recommend... More

I loved staying at this hotel and I plan on staying here again when I come back to Paris. The staff was knowledgeable and very friendly. They knew me by the day after I checked in and would have my key ready when they saw me coming. I didn't eat at the hotel but the menu looked good and I'm... More

Beautyful hotel right next to Pantheon. Rooms are rather small, but excellent decorated as the rest of the hotel. Clean and comfortable. Service fine too. Breakfast okay, but if you want e.g. eggs they cost extra. 7 euro for a soft boiled egg is rather a high price. I bourght a cheese omelet. Tasting only of some artificiel stuff. Certenly... More

A friend recommended this hotel to us and we were not dissapointed. We have lodged in Paris on several occasions over the years and must say this is the best Paris hotel we have stayed in. The hotel and rooms are decorated in the French Empire style, and fits in beautifully with the exterior of the hotel. Our room on the... More

Hotel Des Grand Hommes is a nice hotel in a beautiful old fashioned style decor. It has a perfect location just at the side of The Pantheon and a very nice atmosphere. We had a room with a small balcony on 5th floor with view to The Pantheon. Very nice! The room was not so big but it was nice... More

We have stayed several times at this hotel and have experienced nice large rooms and tiny rooms. This time with a discounted upgrade we got a room in the front with the view of the Pantheon but it was quite small. The staff is as always very friendly and helpful. Housekeeping has its problems and slowness. Breakfast is Ok.

I had a room with a view of the Pantheon. The room was huge by Paris standards and the windows opened up to the square. One of the best reasonably priced rooms I have stayed in Paris. Do not hesitate to stay here if you get a room with a view!

Staying in Quartier Latin

Neighborhood Profile
Quartier Latin
The Latin Quarter bursts with intellectual life, architectural splendor and ongoing merriment. The small streets are filled with classical buildings, student bars and lively eateries while the squares are dominated by historic monuments. The area is defined by the 800-year-old Sorbonne University, where Latin once prevailed, and is famous for the Pantheon which celebrates the great men and women of France. During the day students rush from classes to the library and intellectuals people watch from the terraced cafés. As night time falls the surrounding establishments fill up and the merriment really begins. The liveliest parts are around Rue Mouffetard, lined with crêperies and international street food eateries, and Place de la Contrescarpe characterised by terraced brasseries, this neighborhood provides real nourishment for the mind, belly, and soul.
