I stayed at the tonic hotel saint Germain weekend just gone for my boyfriends 21st birthday. I booked the hotel due to it's great location, the reviews were very mixed which I was worried about but when finding the hotel which is just off the main road meters from the metro Odeon my worries disappeared. I'm not sure why so... More

A nicely renovated hotel. The bathrooms need to be fixed water floods everywhere. Stuck listening to the reception desk first night not happy. Then moved upstairs night 2. Actually not worth a stay. The rooms are less than satisfactory.

Small boutique hotel, just 13 rooms, in a wonderful location. Has lots of character and seems very recently updated. Our room was quiet (opened on an air shaft so we could leave windows open at night), had a big bathtub and comfortable bed, robes & slippers. Wi-Fi was difficult, perhaps due to all of the rock in the walls! Staff... More

Room booked was a converted closet - literally 3 meters from the bed to the receptionist's desk. You can hear the receptionist type from the room with the door closed, and anyone entering the lobby is extremely loud. There is only one room quite this bad, but another not much further. I asked for a cancellation or refund and was... More

Staying in Saint-Germain-des-Pres

Neighborhood Profile
In Saint-Germain-des-Prés, life is effortlessly chic and all things are beautiful. The main boulevard is dotted with famed terraced cafés, haut-couture shops, ivy-covered railings and fine-dining restaurants. Antique dealers and art galleries surround the fine art school and small museums hide in unassuming squares. The neighborhood’s namesake church is the oldest in Paris and is the backdrop for talented musicians every weekend. The Luxembourg Gardens house the national senate, splendid lawns and flourishing flower beds. Famous faces and bourgeois Parisians frequent Saint Germain accompanied by the students of Rue Saint Guillaume and Rue des Saints-Pères. This is a neighborhood where afternoon people-watching from a café or playing cards in a brasserie are a key part of the daily fabric.
