We were given one of the rooms in the highest floors, so climbing up there with luggage was a very bad starting point. Luckily we were only travelling for a weekend, but if someone is carrying a pair of suitcases, then must not ask for a top floor. The room was small, even it was OK. It was recently renewed,... Recently Stayed here the rooms are very old and out dated and small, there is no lift, we stayed on the 3rd floor and the stairs are abit of a killer I won't lie, the staff are really friendly and helpful, breakfast is continental, the location is fabulous as we walked every where 15min to the louvre museum, 1hr to... Very poor customer service. Extremely poor. I would not advise anybody to stay there. The only reason I am giving it two stars, is the location. The staff is rude and careless. Cleanliness is poor. Hotel is totally outdated and smells dump. Facilities even worse. Photos on booking.com are very misleading. We had to climb 3 floors of horrible tiny... More

We stayed here for three nights with our teenage daughter. The location is fantastic. Just 5 min from the RER-station and 10 min from Notre-Dame on the middle of the Latin Quarter. If you don't want to climb stairs this is not your hotel. We didn't mind, although five floors when we arrived with our suitcases - the two top... More

Stayed 2 nights in December in a single room, en suite. You are paying for the location in this place, nothing more. The single room is quite small, peeling paint on walls, carpet is extremely worn. Bedspread was very worn, but the sheets were fine. No fridge, or hot pot for tea, but there is a safe. The stairs are... More

Another great Stay at Hotel du Lys. Pros: Wonderful location, great service, charming atmosphere. Cons: Rooms are small (Bienvenu a Paris), the bed was a little firm, the stairs are a bit daunting for those with disabilities.

Small hotel in a centuries' old house in the Latin Quarter close to Boul St Michel and Boul St Germain. Comfortable room with VERY good lighting, comfortable bed, good strong shower in a reasonably spacious bathroom, and friendly staff. A good breakfast was provided. Better to take the tea rather than the coffee. No lift. 5 stars because very good... More

In 1991, we stayed in a small hotel on the Left Bank on a small alley-type street. The hotel was historic...built in the 16th century for the King's mistress. Owned currently by an American woman involved in the world of jazz. We found it through Frommer. Lovely rooms with original beams. Breakfast served in a wonderful basement cave-like room with... Stayed here for 3 nights with a friend in October. Great, quiet street in a bustling part of the city. Yes, lots of stairs, but we read that review and were prepared. We brought breakfast up to our room in the morning and enjoyed coffee on the little balcony. Friendly staff. Clean room. Walk to all transit including RER direct... More

Staying in Odeon / Saint-Michel

Neighborhood Profile
Odeon / Saint-Michel
As the bustling center of entertainment for the residents of the Rive Gauche, the activity at Odéon never stops. Boulevards are lined with traditional cafes, restaurants, and boutique cinemas. The streets surrounding the fountain at Saint-Michel provide eateries from around the world. Lively bars are just next door and the prototypical terraced French brasserie is on every corner. The setting for this area is second to none; the Haussmann-style boulevards are contrasted by monumental architecture and overshadowed by the iconic Notre Dame, all within a moment’s walk from the Seine. This neighborhood's world-famous bookshops, cafés, and streets will not fail to impress you.
