The location is terrific in the Saint Germain neighborhood, just a ten minute walk to the Seine and the Louvre. The Rue Saint Peres is totally charming. We had a wonderful view of the Paris rooftops. Our room was beautiful with a very nice large bathroom. Our breakfast was relaxing and delicious. The staff was totally friendly and helpful.

Nice location, nice hotel in principle. The cheapest room (over 200€ w/o breakfast) was quite outdated (70's tiles in the bathroom). I do not quite understand why with the high hotel prices it is not possible to regularly modernise a hotel interior and why there was no obvious fundamental renovation of the hotel since decades, it's shows its age. New... More

Dear Johnclo, I am sorry you had an unsatisfactory experience at our hotel. You booked two rooms in december. One Standard and one Classic. One of you stayed in a “standard” room. It is the only room in the hotel which is yet to be renovated. It was redecorated 3 years ago but it will be fully renovated in February.... More

We arrived in the morning after an overnight flight and were able to immediately check in to our room; very personal and welcoming staff that could not do enough to make our first visit to Paris very special; very clean, comfortable room with towel warmer, amenities. Room was very quiet. Lift is small but not a problem for us. Can... More

Second time I go to this hotel this year. Very nice and affordable hotel with clean and design bedroom, very well located (center of St Germain des pres) and the employes are very nice in all situation at any time, quite rare these days in Paris....last but not least the director managed to book us a table in a very... This is a very sweet and well maintained small hotel in the heart of St. Germain (on a side street but walking distance to St. Germain Boulevard). You'll see it is close to everything - great restaurants and stores near by. I cannot say enough about the staff - very friendly and accomodating. While we were waiting for our room,... More

I have come to Paris on a number of occasions. However this stay has the most memorable this far. The hotel is located in the sector of St Germain within walking distance from a number of dining venues (among which my favorite restaurant Lipp). What marked me the most is the friendliness and helpfulness of the staff. Very efficient service... More

This is the second time I stay at Hotel pas de Calais. It was recommended to me by a friend who has been staying there for years. And I will not hesitate to stay there on future visits to Paris. The location is perfect- surrounded by wonderful cafés,beautiful boutiques and a quick walk to the metro. The staff ,in particular... More

I stayed at Pas de Calais in late October. I was travelling on my own and wanted somewhere central, safe, and an easy walking distance to major attractions within the city. The staff at Pas de Calais were exceptional! So helpful with every question, and also helping me find some wonderful restaurants to try for dinner. My French is pretty... More

Staying in Saint-Germain-des-Pres

Neighborhood Profile
Saint-Germain-des-Pres
In Saint-Germain-des-Prés, life is effortlessly chic and all things are beautiful. The main boulevard is dotted with famed terraced cafés, haut-couture shops, ivy-covered railings and fine-dining restaurants. Antique dealers and art galleries surround the fine art school and small museums hide in unassuming squares. The neighborhood’s namesake church is the oldest in Paris and is the backdrop for talented musicians every weekend. The Luxembourg Gardens house the national senate, splendid lawns and flourishing flower beds. Famous faces and bourgeois Parisians frequent Saint Germain accompanied by the students of Rue Saint Guillaume and Rue des Saints-Pères. This is a neighborhood where afternoon people-watching from a café or playing cards in a brasserie are a key part of the daily fabric.
