My wife and I stayed for a week at this hotel in early September and found the location to be exactly as we had hoped... Perfect! It was our first trip to Paris and we were anxious to see what was in store for us after reading reviews of many tiny expensive Parisian rooms and quality of service if you... More

Spent five nights in small room. The location was great and very handy to everything but it is not luxury accommodation, merely adequate and a reasonable price relevant to Paris prices. I didn't intend to spend a lot of time in the room and kept busy out and about photographing the city, so it provided for my modest needs. The... More

This hotel is in a fantastic location overlooking the Seine with the Louvre opposite. Easy walk to attractions and RER(C) station and shopping on left bank. Old building, creaking floors (quaint), but no air conditioning. Even on a cool day (16C) room could get very hot, so open the window, but the traffic noise is constant through the night. Still... Spent 4 nights here early December 2014. Opposite Louvre museum and within walking distance to most things. Hotel is only small. We had a triple room and there was plenty of space. Continental breakfast was good. Only minus were the towels. They were very small and very thin. Overall, the hotel was good.

The Quai Voltaire has had some upgrades, e.g. TV, Safe, Aircon, Wifi. Inevitable requirements in the hospitality industry, but the hotel manages to retain its French charm. No-fuss, efficient English service. Continental breakfast quite adequate (hasn't changed in 18 years since my first visit!)

Great central location. Just across the bridge from the Louvre. Nice walk along the riverside to the Eiffel Tower. Also close to the route for the hop-on-hop-off tour buses. Nice view from the room. Very helpful and friendly staff. The wifi worked well. We will definitely stay here next time we come to Paris. Highly recommended.

Loved the view of the Louvre at night and the room was surprisingly quiet along the busy street - we were on the 5th floor. Great value for the location and the price point. Room was bigger than expected (average size for american standards) for a Paris room and comfortable. Local restaurant and markets are close by and location to... More

Arriving at Gare de Lyon by tgv from the south. The hotel was only a twenty minute wheely suitcase walk via the Musée du Louvre, over the Pont du Carrousel and you're smack bang in the middle of it all. Easy check-in at a fairly bland reception area but stop and look past the dusty pot plants at who's stayed... More

This hotel has a great location - on the Seine, one the Left Bank, and across the river from the Louvre. The accommodations were so-so, but the staff were very helpful and there was free wifi. The biggest drawback was that the hotel was not convenient to the Metro.

I chose this hotel for one single reason: the views. It did not dissapoint. Is just across the Louvre, by the Seine river. The hotel is a nice parisienne style building in Quai Voltaire, walking distance from the Opera (25 min), the Metro (5 min) and the Louvre is justa cross the streets. The cons: The staff. It seems that... More

Staying in Saint-Germain-des-Pres

Neighborhood Profile
In Saint-Germain-des-Prés, life is effortlessly chic and all things are beautiful. The main boulevard is dotted with famed terraced cafés, haut-couture shops, ivy-covered railings and fine-dining restaurants. Antique dealers and art galleries surround the fine art school and small museums hide in unassuming squares. The neighborhood’s namesake church is the oldest in Paris and is the backdrop for talented musicians every weekend. The Luxembourg Gardens house the national senate, splendid lawns and flourishing flower beds. Famous faces and bourgeois Parisians frequent Saint Germain accompanied by the students of Rue Saint Guillaume and Rue des Saints-Pères. This is a neighborhood where afternoon people-watching from a café or playing cards in a brasserie are a key part of the daily fabric.
