Older style hotel and very small rooms but has lots of charm and is perfectly positioned in walking distance to many of Paris' popular tourist attractions. Situated on The River Seine it was quite noisy when balcony doors were opened but once closed for sleeping there was no noise. Clean and reasonably priced. Staff are very helpful and friendly.

I had to plan a last minute trip to Paris that required me to stay in the Saint Germain neighborhood over a weekend in June (translation: prices were NUTS). I stumbled across Quai Voltaire and went for it, not really sure what to expect as I tend to go for higher category properties. When I arrived I was greeted by... More

This is a small hotel in a very old Parisian building of some significance situated in a magical spot on the River Seine directly opposite the Louvre. So centrally located, walking the left bank area was a dream. Even though on a main thoroughfare, and having a front room with a balcony, the room was very quiet, although it did... More

Stayed here for 2 nights at the end of May and really enjoyed my stay Staff are very friendly and the location is wonderful with a view across the Seine River. Had a lovely room with a comfortable bed. I would definitely stay here again if I am lucky enough to visit Paris again.

I can't say enough about the VIEWS and the VERY reasonable cost associated with it! I was there at twenty-six and chose out of the whole world to go there to celebrate my 50th Birthday. I just stood on the room "balcony" staring at the Louvre and street traffic below in TOTAL AWE, the view was as AWESOME as I... More

One cannot beat the location, the view from the rooms and the front desk service. Located on the Seine across from the Lourve, a block from the Musee De Orsay, a short walk to Notre Dame cathedral, and a five minute subway ride to the Eiffel Tower you are centrally located to the major sights of Paris. Restaurants of all... More

The location is superb just opposite the Lourve. If you only wanted to do the inner city tourist attractions it's great. However, it is a 10-15 minute walk to the metro in all directions which doesn't sound like much but after all day walking you feel it. No fridge in room & not allowed to bring food back. Makes for... Stayed here last week for 3 nights with my partner. On arrival I found the staff to be very grumpy which didn't change during the stay, but then we found the majority of the French to be grumpy! The hotel was old and didn't feel very clean. Our room was tiny!! We had barely any space to hang clothes up... More

A lovely historical hotel near the Sen river and neighbor to the Voltaire house. Very clean and close to the Louvre and D'orsay museum and close to the main areas. You can visit all the important places by walking

Stunning views over the Seine and the Louvre. Within easy walking distance of the Île de la Cité, Place de la Concorde and the Louvre Museum and gardens. You really could not ask for more location-wise. Stayed in a single room on the 5th floor. Room was very adequate and not excessively small as some here have suggested. Decor somewhat... More

Staying in Saint-Germain-des-Pres

Neighborhood Profile
Saint-Germain-des-Pres
In Saint-Germain-des-Prés, life is effortlessly chic and all things are beautiful. The main boulevard is dotted with famed terraced cafés, haut-couture shops, ivy-covered railings and fine-dining restaurants. Antique dealers and art galleries surround the fine art school and small museums hide in unassuming squares. The neighborhood’s namesake church is the oldest in Paris and is the backdrop for talented musicians every weekend. The Luxembourg Gardens house the national senate, splendid lawns and flourishing flower beds. Famous faces and bourgeois Parisians frequent Saint Germain accompanied by the students of Rue Saint Guillaume and Rue des Saints-Pères. This is a neighborhood where afternoon people-watching from a café or playing cards in a brasserie are a key part of the daily fabric.
