This is a fantastic location, you can walk to a lot of attractions, Notre Dame, Seine, Pantheon, Cluny Museum and the Louvre Museum. There are plenty of restaurants in the area and lots of patisseries. Our room was small, but it had a comfortable bed, a safe, coffee making facilities, a fridge and free wifi. The shower was very small.... More

This Mercure is in a good location just a few steps from the islands in the Seine and the shops and restaurants of the left bank. There's also lots of cafes for breakfast - try the Brioche D'Or at 6€ rather than pay Mercure 17€.... The downside is road noise in south facing rooms. You must keep the windows shut... More

Make a reservation at this hotel at your peril. I reserved two room, and had one room cancelled as they believed it to be duplicate (even though comments said it was a different guest) Left in Paris at 11pm with no hotel room.... Still awaiting an apology from the Hotel Manager 3 nights later...

We stayed at this hotel for five nights in April and were very pleased with the accommodations. Our room was more than adequate and very clean. The bathroom was quite large compared to other hotels where we have stayed in Europe. The small balcony was delightful. The location was very good and easy walking distance to Notre Dame and other... I stayed at this hotel in the fall of 2014. The location was excellent. There was tons of great restaurants, cafes, and shopping within a few blocks of the hotel. I especially liked that it was extremely touristy in the surrounding area. The metro was also close by. The rooms were a bit small, but as an NYC native that did... More

We had a couple of nights in Paris before and after our bicycle tour and decided to try this Best Western Hotel – and we were not disappointed. Our very clean room -- #63 – was a top-floor room with 2 dormer windows (a little bigger as noted in reviews) and it was perfect for this short period of time.... More

I was really impressed by how much space there was in the room with lots of nice finishing touches and even a little balcony!. The location was great - so close to the metro, shops, restaurants and tourist areas but on a (safe) quiet side street. I have stayed in other hotels in the area which in the past which... More

The only strong points of this location would be the location and the cleaning service. On the services side unfortunately I was quite disappointed. Except for the cleaning lady and one Indian guy at the desk I did not get at least a smile in the four days spent there. No you are welcome feeling, no effort to meet a... More

I stayed in a tiny single room on the first floor, next to the lift, with a view of the air conditioning unit and a wall. The room although small, was spotlessly clean and supplied with a kettle, tea bags and a fridge. The main problem, as others have noted, was a lack of sound proofing. I could hear the... More

Stayed at this hotel in March in order to use some A-Club points that were expiring. I reserved a deluxe room, but I don't think we got it. I didn't even realize it until we had been there a day and my wife mentioned it. If it was deluxe then I wouldn't pay 1 Euro for it and I sure... More

Staying in Quartier Latin

Neighborhood Profile
Quartier Latin
The Latin Quarter bursts with intellectual life, architectural splendor and ongoing merriment. The small streets are filled with classical buildings, student bars and lively eateries while the squares are dominated by historic monuments. The area is defined by the 800-year-old Sorbonne University, where Latin once prevailed, and is famous for the Pantheon which celebrates the great men and women of France. During the day students rush from classes to the library and intellectuals people watch from the terraced cafés. As night time falls the surrounding establishments fill up and the merriment really begins. The liveliest parts are around Rue Mouffetard, lined with crêperies and international street food eateries, and Place de la Contrescarpe characterised by terraced brasseries, this neighborhood provides real nourishment for the mind, belly, and soul.
