My wife and I had stayed at this hotel 19 years ago during part of our honeymoon. During our return stay there this year with our son, the lady at the front desk, Lorette, was exceedingly accomodating and helpful and gracious in every way. We enjoyed the relaxed atmosphere of the left bank cafes and restaurants and will always feel... More

Bonjour! My husband and I and two teenage boys just returned from a four day stay at the BW ST. G. We had a mixed experience--the location is fabulous, the street scene charming and wonderful, and the hotel is mixed. The baths were great--renovated, clean and lovely, with fabulous hot water, towels, and toiletries. The beds were very comfortable with... More

The location of this hotel is ideal - steps away from the Odéon Metro stop and near the Boulevard St Germain. I've stayed in three other hotels in the area and liked this one best. The triple room that we had on the fifth floor was comfortable, had a lovely hardwood bedstead, with a cheerful box of geraniums outside the... More

We were generally disappointed with the room, staff, and location of the hotel. The room was very small, dark, and shabby. The staff was extremely cold and, on many occassions, we were not even greeted when we came through the door. Breakfast was disappointing - guarded by the "breakfast nazi". The closest subway station requires transfers several times to reach... More

J'adore cet hotel! It is a shame that this hotel is not listed in any of the guidebooks. It is fabulous. I am picky about the little things (linens, beds) but I have to say there were no negatives for me here. Keep in mind that in Europe the rooms in hotels are much smaller than in the United States... Located in the heart of the Left Bank off Rue Buci, this Best Western Hotel has uncomfortable and very small rooms, even by European standards. Rooms that are "05" as in "105", "205" are billed as Queen Superior Rooms but are exceedingly small for two people. Only a small public space in the hotel to relax (don't be fooled by... More

This hotel is a gem in the heart of Paris. Let's first talk about location -- it is around the corner from the Metro, in the heart of St. Germain (fabulous restaurants), and a few (very few) minutes walk to Louvre, the Seine, Notre Dame, and the Pantheon. Now, let's talk breakfast -- it was good. Cheeses, breads, jams, coffee,... More

It's as nice as all the other reviews say it is. I would definitely go there again, for all the reasons everyone else has mentioned; location, cleanliness, supportive staff, good breakfast, good bed, and QUIET! it's impossible to believe when you're in the bedroom that all that bustle is going on outside. Also excellent blackout curtains that were too effective,... More

We loved this hotel from the minute we arrived. The lobby decor is lovely -- welcoming and cozy -- with many paintings and tapestries giving it an "Old Europe" feel. We had arrived early, expecting to simply stow our luggage and return later. However, our room was ready, so we were able to check in immediately. The staff at the... More

I have stayed at this lovely small hotel many times in recent years: by myself; with my husband; with my (grown) daughter; and with friends. We have recommended it, as well, to many of our friends who have also become "regulars". It is a charming small property in a fabulous location. The rooms are very comfortable, with modern bathrooms. The... More

Staying in Odeon / Saint-Michel

Neighborhood Profile
Odeon / Saint-Michel
As the bustling center of entertainment for the residents of the Rive Gauche, the activity at Odéon never stops. Boulevards are lined with traditional cafes, restaurants, and boutique cinemas. The streets surrounding the fountain at Saint-Michel provide eateries from around the world. Lively bars are just next door and the prototypical terraced French brasserie is on every corner. The setting for this area is second to none; the Haussmann-style boulevards are contrasted by monumental architecture and overshadowed by the iconic Notre Dame, all within a moment’s walk from the Seine. This neighborhood's world-famous bookshops, cafés, and streets will not fail to impress you.
