The hotel is excellently located near to the Louvre and Rue de Rivoli, near the Chatelet Metro Station. The building is very old (like more than 200 years). Although renovated and structurally in good condition, disadvantages show architecturally. It has pretty tight rooms, even tighter bathrooms and corridors like the passage of a train vagon. Other than that, it is... More

The staff are absolutely beautiful. The hotel has a traditional French charm. Air con in the rooms, the bathroom was clean, small amount of mould in the shower but we just wore thongs while showering. The bed is a bit uncomfy and hard but if you're tired from exploring all day it shan't matter. The buffet breakfast is pretty good... More

We had great expectations from the hotel, especially relative to its price. We came in at 1am and probably got the worst room in the hotel. Small, crampy, and nothing like the pictures shown on the websites. We barely had room to open the suitcase, and the decoration was very disappointing. The bathroom was tiny and covered with dark pink... More

On a hot night in Paris, this hotel was a hot find. With air conditioning, meme mieux! Grand Dechampaigne is grand hotel secret: perfect location (1.5 blocks from the Seine and same from Rue de Rivoli) in the 1st. It's quiet and quaint in the best sense. Felt really comfortable staying there on a solo voyage. A short walk (5... More

The hotel is located centrally. Notre Dame Cathedral, the Louvre Museum, Centre Pompidou are all in short walking distance. Metro station is very close. The rooms are small but clean. The bathroom is extremely small. The hotel is located in a historic building dated late 1500s, and renovation seems to be impossible in many aspects. But at least room decorations... More

Notre Dame, Quartier Latin,The Louvre, Centre Pompidou are all within walking distance of this hotel. The hotel is just off Rue de Rivoli and near the lovely Place du Chatelet (try the terrace of historic Cafe le Zimmer !). In the hotel you hear nothing of the traffic. Metro Chatelet and Metro Pont Neuf are closeby.

Stayed here for 4 nights on a mini break to do the sights of Paris Hotel is superbly situated near lots of the sights and by the river The rooms are claustrophobic and really gaudy with their decoration lighter more muted colours.would give more of a feeling of space Breakfast is expensive and boring , the reception staff were helpful... This was just the perfect little hotel in the most perfect location. Our room was small but clean and comfortable. Everything worked and it was nice and quite (3rd floor). Surrounding us was great restaurants and a little grocery store that we visited several times for our wine fix. The front desk staff helped us with a handful of questions... More

Stayed here as part of my 20th wedding anniversary holiday for 4 nights. The hotel is very well located being steps from two exits from the Chatelet-Les Halles Metro and RER complex, the Rue de Rivoli, a supermarket on the corner of the street, and minutes from the Seine, the Louvre, the Pont Neuf and other sites. The bus departure... More

We stayed here in late October 2013 for 5 nights. We had stayed here 2 years before and found it to be in the perfect location to walk to all major attractions so decided to return. The manager remembered us. We had the same room again. Whilst the rooms are not large, a lot of accommodation in Paris is the... More

Staying in Les Halles

Neighborhood Profile
Les Halles
Historically the central iron-clad market of Paris, Les Halles has evolved architecturally since then but the pulsating energy has stayed the same. Now it houses the main shopping mall, which nestles underground surrounded by fast-food take-aways and international restaurants coupled with beautiful churches and the old commodity exchange. Parallel to it are the high-street stores of Rue de Rivoli and just parallel to that the Seine. The area bustles with faces from all continents and all ages at all times of the day. If enjoying high-street shopping with easy access to fast eateries and lively bars is on your agenda, this is the place to go.
