After booking this hotel going by the previous reviews on Trip Advisor this hotel lived up to everything they said and more. This was my first visit to Paris and I couldn’t have been more happy with what I got. The location of this hotel is perfect. It is on a lovely quiet street just around the corner from the... More

My husband and I stayed here based on reviews we read on trip advisor and frommers and could not have been happier. I can not say enough good things about our stay. The location is perfect! Located across the street from the Chatelet metro stop and taxi stand and a short walk to two of the best shopping streets in... More

I would highly recommend the Hotel Britannique (avenue Victoria). The staff were extremely friendly, helpful and its located 2 mins away from Chatalet metro. Its right in the middle of Paris, a stone throw from Notre Dame, St Michel and 10min walk to the Louvre. The room was tasteful decorated. You dont get much in space for any Paris hotel,... More

We booked our stay at this brilliant hotel based on the reviews on this website. Being our first time we were a bit nervous of what actually to expect. This hotel more than exceeded our expectations. The decor, the rooms, the unbelievable friendly staff just made our stay perfect. The staff are always willing to give you some ideas on... More

My husband and I stayed at the Hotel Britannique at the end of Nov. We made reservations directly with the hotel on-line. They responded to our questions in a timely manner and provided any extras we asked for. A great location to all major tourist areas and one street over from the river. The staff spoke English and did not... More

I just arrived back from a week in Paris. I chose this hotel because it looked so cozy and comfortable. I was not disappointed. I stayed in a single room on the 6th floor that was kept immaculately clean. The staff was attentive and friendly. The breakfast was included in my winter rate and I found it delicious. The location... More

Our eight night stay in August was delightful. Our flight arrived in the early morning and we were at the hotel well before check in time. We were able to leave our bags at reception and go for lunch before one of our two rooms was made available early for us to rest. Our rooms on the 5th floor were... More

The rooms were spotless but very small. Bed was less than 6 feet long. The lift was very very small - I took the stairs instead. I was woken up and kept awake because I could hear everything and I do mean everything the couple in the next room were up to. Totally spoilt my stay.

Location, Location, Location.. Recent stunning refurb although cramped. Excellent ZIMMER restaurant across the road and fabulous bakery around the corner. Staff very friendly, helpful and apologetic when we highlighted the walls were paper thin and were kept awake till the small hours by the couple making out next door!! Tea and coffee provided in room but no kettle or hot... More

I enjoyed my four-night stay at this small hotel a couple of blocks away from the Seine. Although my room was quite small (and so was the elevator), it was quite comfortable. I also enjoyed hanging out in the comfortable lobby a few steps below the reception area. The staff was cordial and helpful and the first-arrondisement location was a... More

Staying in Les Halles

Neighborhood Profile
Les Halles
Historically the central iron-clad market of Paris, Les Halles has evolved architecturally since then but the pulsating energy has stayed the same. Now it houses the main shopping mall, which nestles underground surrounded by fast-food take-aways and international restaurants coupled with beautiful churches and the old commodity exchange. Parallel to it are the high-street stores of Rue de Rivoli and just parallel to that the Seine. The area bustles with faces from all continents and all ages at all times of the day. If enjoying high-street shopping with easy access to fast eateries and lively bars is on your agenda, this is the place to go.
