We had recently stayed for a nights in the Timhotel. The area it is in seems like a good and quiet area but it's also close to the Metro station (3min) walk. So it is not too much hassle to get around. The rooms are however very small. We had booked a double room and there was hardly any space... More

The location is lovely as it is only two blocks from the metro (7 and 10 lines, about 15/20 minutes from the Eiffel Tower, 5 from Notre Dame and Le Louvre) and by the Jardin des Plantes. The beds are hard, the bathroom tiny, and the tub is slightly molded. The breakfast is decent, so that's nice. They are currently... More

Restaurants and a small Carre Four close-by. Subway sandwich same block. Generally poorly maintained. Maids enter room even with 'do not disturb' sign up and TV on. No eggs for breakfast, but jamon(ham) rolled up, croissants, yogurt, coffee, basic. Firmer bed in my room. This time the staff were more interactive than two years ago. A/C worked pretty good. No... We got a great deal by booking this hotel in advance, two rooms with twin beds. The beds being sooooo comfortable with lovely white covers and our very white towels were changed every day. It was good to have air conditioning as Paris was very hot this August. And we were so surprised Paris was quieter than anticipated. It seems... More

I was traveling alone and a bit nervous when I arrived at the hotel. There was a nice young woman at the desk, named Kelly P., that gave me a very friendly greeting. I told her I liked her turquoise nail polish. She said she had it with her and asked if I would I like to use it. I... More

The staff in the restaurant is terrible. We had ordered breakfast, but chose to go into town and eat our breakfast. We got yelled at because we chose an empty table, without having first approached her. It was very uncomfortable. Their restaurant is made of glass, making the sun beats down and all sat and sweated. We found out after... More

Stayed 3 mites from 25 May having last stayed here November 2013. Room and ensuite shower was clean on the small side (but what else would you expect in a building that's around 120 years old (?) and comfortable with everything we needed. Was uninterested in the view from the window. Quiet overnite x 3 so good nites sleep each... More

Not as good as six years ago. Bathroom needed scrub. Decor tired. Room toiletries etc mean and room service did not replace coffee, milk, etc. To some extent this was Ok as the milk in little cartons for the tea/coffee was disgusting and tainted the drink. Reception and breakfast staff good, breakfast OK. Location is A1

My family of six arrived at the Timhotel Jardin des Plantes in the beginning of the month in June. It's was pretty inexpensive for the location is one of the reasons we originally picked it. When we arrived we were given our appropriate rooms and headed straight off to bed. Bathrooms were dirty with mold in the walls and barely... More

Staying in Quartier Latin

Neighborhood Profile
Quartier Latin
The Latin Quarter bursts with intellectual life, architectural splendor and ongoing merriment. The small streets are filled with classical buildings, student bars and lively eateries while the squares are dominated by historic monuments. The area is defined by the 800-year-old Sorbonne University, where Latin once prevailed, and is famous for the Pantheon which celebrates the great men and women of France. During the day students rush from classes to the library and intellectuals people watch from the terraced cafés. As night time falls the surrounding establishments fill up and the merriment really begins. The liveliest parts are around Rue Mouffetard, lined with crêperies and international street food eateries, and Place de la Contrescarpe characterised by terraced brasseries, this neighborhood provides real nourishment for the mind, belly, and soul.
