I wanted to love this hotel because of what I'd heard but sadly, was disappointed. The personnel were terrific, ditto for the location but the hotel has seen better times. The rooms (tiny) need updating, the halls need a massive redo (dirty carpet and walls). The AC was down for a day during my 4 day stay (it was 100... More

Found this hotel on a budget website so we worried that it wouldn't be great, but we actually had a lovely time and no problems. Was surprised that the room was a very decent size with a large bathroom and a balcony although I think we paid for the cheapest room. It was clean and the bed was large, although... More

This hotel has a great location in a very nice neighborhood in Paris, next to a subway stop and many convenient bus stops, with shops and restaurants at walking distance. The hotel is nice, the breakfast is good, and they have nice touches like coffee and pastries in the lobby all day long. The only downside in our experience was... More

We loved our stay at this hotel as it is close to landmarks, restaurants and shops. The hotel room itself is relaxing and comfortable with all the essential you would need for your break to Paris. The staff were so friendly and helpful, recommending some great places to eat and see. We loved this hotel that we have booked it... More

Great location, very close to Metro and after a day's walking and sightseeing you need to be close! Room and bathroom smaller then expected but we only slept there so not really a problem. Plenty of places to get breakfast and evening meal. Staff very pleasant and helpful. Really busy and bustling area which we enjoyed, loved it, can't wait... More

I had to book this hotel on the fly after an AirBNB reservation did not work out. Hotel Vaneau St. Germain was absolutely perfect for what we needed. Yes, the room is tiny, but you won't be spending much time there anyway. The room was clean, the staff very professional and helpful, we found the hotel to be very well... More

Excellent service, good location, very reasonable price for Paris. Very good bistro next door that serves all meals early morning to late evening. Hotel offers a good breakfast at extra cost. Right near Vaneau metro stop.

reasonable price in an area where there seems to be limited offer; small but comfortable enough room; reasonably quiet inside, although you can hear people walking or doors being closed but not much noise from inside the rooms; simple but sufficient buffet breakfast, again, at a reasonable price; not unfriendly staff; generally, I was pleasantly surprised; one of the few... perfekt situated in center of paris with good fr restaurant and cafe next door. charming and to fall in love in with, mif wasn't for the impossibility to sleep after 4:30 am due to the noise from the street; i.e no go for business travellers.

Sadly we only stayed here one night while picking our daughter up from a nearby university "foyer". The hotel is a wonderfully charming place with very tastefully decorated rooms. Ours had fabulous art nouveau stained glass windows and a fireplace. The bed was very comfortable indeed with really nice bedding. Although it is just off a busy street Rue Sevres,... More

Staying in Saint-Germain-des-Pres

Neighborhood Profile
Saint-Germain-des-Pres
In Saint-Germain-des-Prés, life is effortlessly chic and all things are beautiful. The main boulevard is dotted with famed terraced cafés, haut-couture shops, ivy-covered railings and fine-dining restaurants. Antique dealers and art galleries surround the fine art school and small museums hide in unassuming squares. The neighborhood’s namesake church is the oldest in Paris and is the backdrop for talented musicians every weekend. The Luxembourg Gardens house the national senate, splendid lawns and flourishing flower beds. Famous faces and bourgeois Parisians frequent Saint Germain accompanied by the students of Rue Saint Guillaume and Rue des Saints-Pères. This is a neighborhood where afternoon people-watching from a café or playing cards in a brasserie are a key part of the daily fabric.
