I had to book this hotel on the fly after an AirBNB reservation did not work out. Hotel Vaneau St. Germain was absolutely perfect for what we needed. Yes, the room is tiny, but you won't be spending much time there anyway. The room was clean, the staff very professional and helpful, we found the hotel to be very well... More

Excellent service, good location, very reasonable price for Paris. Very good bistro next door that serves all meals early morning to late evening. Hotel offers a good breakfast at extra cost. Right near Vaneau metro stop.

reasonable price in an area where there seems to be limited offer; small but comfortable enough room; reasonably quiet inside, although you can hear people walking or doors being closed but not much noise from inside the rooms; simple but sufficient buffet breakfast, again, at a reasonable price; not unfriendly staff; generally, I was pleasantly surprised; one of the few... perfekt situated in center of paris with good fr restaurant and cafe next door. charming and to fall in love in with, mif wasn't for the impossibility to sleep after 4:30 am due to the noise from the street; i.e no go for business travellers.

Sadly we only stayed here one night while picking our daughter up from a nearby university "foyer". The hotel is a wonderfully charming place with very tastefully decorated rooms. Ours had fabulous art nouveau stained glass windows and a fireplace. The bed was very comfortable indeed with really nice bedding. Although it is just off a busy street Rue Sevres,... More

This hotel is located just 2 minutes walk from the metro station. And even though it is close to the noisy street, Rue Vaneau is quiet at night and one can sleep with an open window. Staff are friendly and helpful and there are great brasseries nearby for dinner. My room was relatively big with a big bathroom and a... More

First time in Paris, and I absolutely loved the property. Within the neighborhood alone, one can live, work and play with multiple metro stations within a 10 minute walk away (one less than a block away), Carrefour grocery store literally across the street, Le Bon Marche and Grande Epicerie only a few blocks down, with other retail nearby. Room was... More

We stayed for two nights - the staff were friendly and helpful and the room a fair size for Paris. We were on a high floor and from what I could tell, there wouldn't be much difference between rooms in terms of outlook onto a not to busy but noisy road. The en-suite, particularly the shower was pretty tiny -... More

Wasn't sure what to expect as we'd never been to Paris before. Found our way quite easily from the train station on foot. Arrived a little early to check-in so the lady on reception offered to take our luggage for us. I'm very glad she did! When we got into our room later that day it was lovely. Guest robes... More

I like it when a hotel gives me what I asked for..unfortunately doesn't always happen! It did in this case! Had to wait a bit for room , arrived about 1:30pm..but it was worth it. Great location..right on the edge of the 6th but in 7th. Shopping street Rue Sevres( 2 groceries open every day late, bakeries, choc shop, etc.)... More

Staying in Saint-Germain-des-Pres

Neighborhood Profile
Saint-Germain-des-Pres
In Saint-Germain-des-Prés, life is effortlessly chic and all things are beautiful. The main boulevard is dotted with famed terraced cafés, haut-couture shops, ivy-covered railings and fine-dining restaurants. Antique dealers and art galleries surround the fine art school and small museums hide in unassuming squares. The neighborhood’s namesake church is the oldest in Paris and is the backdrop for talented musicians every weekend. The Luxembourg Gardens house the national senate, splendid lawns and flourishing flower beds. Famous faces and bourgeois Parisians frequent Saint Germain accompanied by the students of Rue Saint Guillaume and Rue des Saints-Pères. This is a neighborhood where afternoon people-watching from a café or playing cards in a brasserie are a key part of the daily fabric.
