Very nice, clean hotel a little aways from central Paris but very close about a 5 minute walk away from the metro. The rooms was very spacious, clean and modernized; beds were comfortable, the room came with a kettle and the washrooms were clean and tidy. Cleaning was done on a daily basis, and there were no complaints, the staff... More

I want to say that we are avid travelers and spend 10 to 15 days a year traveling throughout Europe and are very familiar with the highs and lows of hotel living. My wife and I stayed at the hotel for 6 nights and enjoyed the great metro access and the staff at the hotel. The hotel is located a... More

I stayed for seven days in December 2014 and my only complaint is that the room was a bit small, but being a Platinum member, I had access to the Executive Lounge, which had a fantastic breakfast, and all water and soda bottles in the minibar were free. The staff was friendly and the hotel was conveniently located between two... More

My husband and I stayed here for three nights while in Paris. I chose this location because of my Marriott points. While it wasn't exactly in the middle of Paris, the price was right and being located right between two RER stations, we were able to get to everywhere that we had planned pretty easily. The room was average -... More

Just returned from a 4 night stay here. The bed was among the most comfortable I've found in large hotels like this. The pillow top mattress and multiple pillows made for a great night's sleep. While not in the "heart of the action" or in the most charming of neighborhoods, it is located right next to a metro stop with... More

Was on a vacation around the new year in Paris... Had great expectations being Marriot... But was quiet shocked as the hotel was dated ...felt like a 70's style hotel....the room was small, had issues with cooling and heating... Bathroom had mould .... The bathtub was too high to get in and you have to be really careful as you... More

We spent almost a week at this hotel (typical Marriot) before heading to our next destination. We had two rooms to accomodate our family of six (which includes 4 children). The staff (all speak English) are very pleasant, friendly, and eager to help from loaning you an umbrella, getting a taxi, giving you directions, learning about France, or speaking French.... More

I came to Paris for a business meeting and had to choose between the few hotels for which my company negotiated a rate. I went for Marriott due to the Rewards program. Based on the reviews here, I was anticipating the hotel to feel maybe a bit dated. From the outside, it looks like typical Paris architecture of the 60-70s... More

This hotel is well run the staff is outstanding and I believe that the property is in pretty good shape. It's actually in a pretty decent location although not really in one of the prime locations but for the price it is fine. You can afford a lot of taxi rides with the room rate. We walked out bound downhill... More

We stayed for three nights as part a Viking River cruise. There isn't anything Parisian about this hotel, its a typical American convention hotel. Although it is located near transportation, its really not convenient to walk to good restaurants or tourist attractions. The staff was friendly but somewhat overwhelmed by the number of conventioneers, as was the lobby at times.... More

Dear Joe S, Thank you for your review on your stay at our Paris Marriott Rive Gauche Hotel. I am sorry that you did not feel like you were staying in Paris. Staying in Montparnasse

Neighborhood Profile
Montparnasse
The namesake tower of Montparnasse dominates over the landscape but the fun part is the throbbing life that goes on below it. Bright lights, busy cinemas, brasseries and diners encompass hidden museums and parks to entertain the masses. Long avenues lead away from the tower to take you to unsuspecting places and historical monuments and treasures. In between lie adorable ivy-covered houses with beams and small gardens to match. Just a short metro ride away from the center of Paris this neighborhood has something for every hour of the day.
